Story starts with Shinji Takatsuki being berated by his mother-in-law, Sanae Takatsuki, during dinner about his ongoing underwhelming work performance; not only Sane is Shinji’s nagging in-law but also his nagging boss, owner of the family Interior Design business office, where Shinji’s wife and Sanae’s daughter, Miyuki Takatsuki, work as well.

Shinji cannot believe this hell has been going for 1 year already, but Miyuki makes it endurable at least, she is a sweet wife who doesn’t fault Shinji in everything he does like Sanae; however, Shinji does accept that his performance has been lacking a bit, not securing enough clients and proposing ideas that do prove Sanae he is someone of worth, and Miyuki does not see her mom as badly as Shinji, urging him to see her good side as well, for the reason Sanae is do demanding is due her Interior Design career is practically self-made now, she opened the place with husband many years ago but unfortunately he died shortly after the inauguration, according to Miyuki her father was as competent as Sanae, if not more, in the biz, which is why Shinji is being held to a higher standard, he is now part of the family in which Sanae hopes the man who married her daughter is actually worth a damn.
