other出东西出的就是快。。。题材也多但是剧情简单太多了，口味也比本部清淡有时候甚至连乳环这种好文化都没有了。味道不对，总感觉是做实验的。。。

Covid destroyed a majority of the eroge industry. The industry was already struggling as is and with culture changes due to western social media influence, but Covid I think accelerated the bleeding out. Many companies had to shut down their buildings during lockdowns and then struggled to pay taxes and rent. Some companies are coming back but they are trying to make up for loses, putting out cheaply made games. We are in a dark period right now.

I've also noticed a lot of mergers with minor companies and dmm (which is mainly owned by china now), has been taking games from developers and releasing cheap stuff under the dmm name. Games are being pushed for digital release and dmm has taken the forefront eroge releases but their products are often cheap (which I don't understand why as they are a shop and have plenty of money)

I think it's a multitude of things but the biggest was 2020 pandemic. It's harder to sell, dmm becoming one of the bigger digital release and restricting what they sell, new laws coming into place. There is also the problem of older artists beginning to age out of the eroge industry and new talent with fresh ideas is hard to come by. I don't see eroge becoming mainstream like the anime/manga market but eroge IS being affected as well to some degree. I think the industry is going to struggle for a bit, we'll see how fast Japan recovers. But it all depends Japan tries to go for foreign dollars or rely on the foreign market for recovery in certain industries. If it's the later I don't see good things for the eroge industry.
