@dralemeres while I'm with you on the whole "let's withdraw information, it's not like a delay of a few seconds while change anything" thing, I think his problem is more massive survivor guilt.
Either he's the only survivor of the whole ordeal, and even then he got tainted, I think, or the angel managed to survive too, but still, he puts the blame on himself because he doubted for a very precious instants.

I don't think the last update belonged to the same story.

A successor group made of most of its members has risen, but it seems they are either still trying to recover or has dropped this series.
