The girl in the first story is Rhajat, and yes, she's very similar to Tharja (appareance, personnality, voice actor) but she's still a different character as she's from Fates.
Fun facts, Rhajat's name is an anagram of Tharja (and in JP, Syalla to Sallya).

Which make me think after reading it, the translator used a mix of JP and ENG name, which can lead some confusion. Either use one or other, as Tharja should have been Sallya if it was to keep the JP name, and correct Shara to Syalla to follow the anagram.

Well, one thing I did like with Tharja, is she's all yuri to the MC if you choose the female avatar.
And if I'm not wrong, Rhajat is the only character you can have a yuri relationship with the female MC (thanks to that damn censorship localization...).

While they are different characters, if I recall its somewhat implied that Rhajat is a future / past (its unclear which) incarnation of Tharja.

So you know, she's so yandere for the main character that not neither passage of time nor death itself will stop her love. Fun stuff.

I can clear this up, FE fates is more a chronological prequel to awakening, if you have the Awakening dlc pack, chrom even calls on the fact that nohrn and hoshido are old kingdoms, along with two others kids in the game, Rhajat is either the mother, grandmother or great grandmother of Tharja

The localization had nothing to due with Female Corrin's only yuri option being Rhajat, that was present in both the Japanese and English release.

Personally, given the whole alternate universe shenanigans, I think it's possible that she's both a past AND future incarnation of Tharja.

I am more confused by the logistics of it, is it even possible for a child to end up with the exact same genetic make up as either of its parents, which the Grandfather Paradox situation would enforce? or does the Grandfather Paradox create infinite alternate timelines where each subsequent incarnation of Noire has a slightly different genetic make up?
