He eats him, painfully dissolves him in his stomach acid, and then...spits him out and magically reforms his body?

What's the point of that? If he can do that why doesn't he just conjure up meat to eat?

Well I guess that something will happen during resurrection as we can see that the foxdragon being spat out is confusing. It may cause some amnesia and just lost some memory.

I have to say that Spirit Dancer always create some great pieces. But no need to check all the reasons.
