First attempt at a translation, wanted to give Poccora some love. If anyone sees any errors or typos and wants to correct me, feel free to leave a comment or a PM.

Alright really appreciate translations I really do I think more people should look into joining scanlation groups and contribute considering how much we use this sight but like at least look up tips or advice beforehand before you attempt it solo. It's no help that people will literally rate ANYTHING five stars. I also recommend before going solo, try looking for a scanlation group thats recruiting.

That being said hope I didn't crush any motivation one might have had. First off don't use the font you used. Use something more normal and inoffensive like CCYadaYada. Second off on page 04 with the text outside the bubbles, you should put a white stroke effect on the text layer. Thirdly your text doesn't need to be that big.

Appreciate the attempt and its not really your fault people will literally rate anything five stars. I think most of the people wanting to go solo on something would be better off looking for a scanlation group or checking the forums on e hentai to get the proper assistance and guidance

I recognize that font right away, it's rooftop run isn't it ? In the US version of Maria Holic by Tokyopop, they use that font for almost everything

First of all, definitely appreciate the feedback. I didn't actually do the typesetting, just the translation. I've looked up resources from the forums, but mostly ones pertaining to translation. I doubt I'll ever get into editing, and a scanlation group seems like quite a commitment. If I continue with this as a hobby, I'll definitely look into it. I assumed they weren't very beginner friendly. This was more of a leisure project, I just thought it'd be cool to help some people who couldn't read raws get a bit more out of this book. Any tips on translation? Like my phrasing could probably be a lot better in places amongst other things. I'm sure your typesetting tips will help my editor improve, appreciate the feedback. Not really after community recognition or the "5stars", that seems pretty subjective to begin with. Would your assessment of it being low quality come purely from the typesetting?

I can't speak for other groups but I know mine is beginner friendly. To be honest none of the scanlation skills take THAT long to become passable. I've typesetted, translated, redrawn, and drawn SFX and they all took maybe an hour or two at the most to get a hang of. All you need are the proper fonts and direction and shit. That's why I think more people should contribute. Pretty sure no scanlation group is gonna hold a gun to one's head and give a deadline either.

As for the translation, it seems too literal. I mean I used to do the same style when I started but I mean no one is gonna get mad if you do a Japanese -> English -> English translation for porn. In fact thats mostly what a checker/proofreader is for. So long as you don't have a personal agenda you're trying to force into the translation like most Japanese games receive, it's fine because its porn and its supposed to be less literal so that it has more "flow". Usually what I do is I translate it as accurately as possible first then I look at my Englsih translation with the Raws open next to them and try to make it sound more normal English. Usually this isn't the translators job though I think, usually a proofreader does this.
