Author Comment/Farewell Message: You people are still here? Why...? Well whatever. So yeah, life decided to be itself and took a weird turn. Things got back to normal, and when I returned to this whole... thing.. business... whatever the hell I was doing here, I realized that it was dumb. Selling a digital product online is dumb. You can sell access to an experience or to a sense of community, but you can't sell a product. Well obviously you CAN sell a product, but not with any sustainability. After the first few purchases it's out in the wild and people just get it for free. And who doesn't like free stuff? So I decided not to do it anymore. Just walked away for quite a few months. Then recently got an email from my hosting company that my domain expired. Which brought me back here.

As for the people who left messages and emails and stuff, THANKS! That's very sweet of you. I'll sort through those and get back to you. In the meantime, here's some sets I'll never finish.

Uploader Comment: Seeing as no one else uploaded these, I figured I might as well. Patreon isn't enough to save every content creator. RIP Mongo Bongo, you will be missed.

Man that really sucks. Lot of good memories and spilled loads associated with his work. I guess piracy really does cause people to just give up in the end. Press F to pay respects.

@leddis4 Anyone would bitch about not being paid for their work. Though in the end I think it's his own fault. From the perspective of a small content creator, you can't stop piracy. So the first step is to start treating it as a fact rather than a problem.

He said you can't sell a product, but that's not quite right. DLsite has no trouble selling games and interactive videos, since that's where DRM actually works. When screenshots or recordings don't give the whole experience.

Then there's the Patreon approach, Patreon's easily keeping hundreds of porn artists alive and well, just by doing streams and sharing WIPs.

But he saw the trend and responded by creating a store of his own to sell other people's art besides his. A brute force "just add more" approach, with the same flaw as his original business model.

How many copyrighted realms did he borrow from? Hmm. Trek, WOW, DC & MARVEL...

Did he pay for their use? Or did he rely on the already established notoriety, and piggyback his work? Did he give creative credit for the various characters he used to their original creators? For those of you not familiar with comic book history, the Seigel and Schuster heirs fought a long legal battle to ensure that Joe Schuster and Jerry Seigel would always be credited for creating Superman. You use the character, you give credit. The same now goes for nearly any established comic book character, even if used in parody. You put Spiderman in a comic and sell it for profit, you make damn sure you credit the creators (Stan Lee and Steve Ditko). Looking back at MB's work, he never did that. Not once. Yet he expected to profit from their use.

It's easier for a writer and artists to use already established characters- everyone knows their backstories. If I say I'm going to tell you a story that takes place on the USS Enterprise, you already KNOW a helluva lot about the world the story takes place in, Writing and making art with established Universes is easy. Most of the hard creative work is done. If you stray too far from "canon", it collapses. Creating stuff that is new, well, that's hard. MB did a lot of borrowing, and very little original work.

It's a shame Mongo Bongo is bowing out; Being able to show stories without words like this is a talent and I loved Mongo's way of doing it.

I hope Mongo comes back and finds some way to get rewarded for their work like others have.

Shit, Mongo is/was my absolute favorite 3d porn artist. Damn shame he's leaving. I admit that around half of the sets I've seen of his don't appeal to me personally, but the rest of it was gold in my book. If he has a passion for this stuff, then I hope he comes back eventually and finds a way to monetize it effectively like others seem to have done.

Guy could have been making a cozy $2-3k a month off this on Patreon.
