There's barely any healthy relationships in FT. This is one of the creepier ones, I mean he almost killed her and those two guys, nailed them to a tree, destroyed her guild, beat up natsu (twice but Natsu won the second time), tried to kill Lucy. Then not even like 2 months later they start crushing on each other.

@destinyduler yet it's okay for Goku to wish vegeta back to life many times even though he tried to kill him before, so Gajeel is just small potatoes.

@destinyduler That was back when he wasnt in Fairy Tail. He never had friends before so after he joined he became nice. He even risked his life for Levy during Tenrou Island arc. I think that was the point they started developing feeligs for each other.

Hahaha! Well, Levy-chan never had a huge chest. And then there's the loli Wendy. ;-)

I don't know about two months later. Seemed longer than that, but then again, Fairy Tail went on forever without much time passing for some arcs.

That aside, I get your point. However, if you recall, initially Levy was afraid of Gajeel when he joined FT. But then Gejeel risked his life for her (likely out of guilt) and their relationship changed. Then Mashima-sensei evoked the "girls love bad boys" trope along with "nice guys finish last" (that coming in the form of her two, male companions who lusted for her, but never got anywhere with her) for the Levy x Gajeel ship.

Personally, I didn't mind this ship.

@tri_dead_91489. Vegeta was only wished back twice and both times he was included in a group all wish. Neither time did Goku say bring Vegeta back. Once it was all victims of Frieza then the next was everyone who died that wasn't evil. The thing is with Vegeta too he didn't turn good until the end of the Buu Saga He spent his appearances after his first being evil to not caring. Even in the Buu Saga he sold his soul and only after realizing he couldn't beat Buu decided to sacrifice himself for his family. In series that's like a total of 10+ years of him having to change. Gajeel didn't even take a year. Even then what Vegeta and Bulma had wasn't really love till the the end of the Buu Saga. This is shown when he sold his soul to get them off his mind to go back to how he was, not caring about Trunks when he's a baby, preferring to train instead of be with Trunks, not even paying attention to Trunks when Trunks is training with him, etc. Trunks was a baby of lust really.

@JtB01 true but even so, are you telling me that if someone beat the shit out of you and your friends, blew up your house, etc. You'd be okay dating them or someone you know falling in love with them? If it was after a long time yes I think it could work but less than a year?

@FO_Bakayarou True, but the only time we ever got confirmation a year has passed was after Tenrou and then again after Tartarus. So I assumed it was a few months, I just said two as a place holder.

True but even so after what he did to everything it's a bit silly and really bad writing to have them fall in love in such a short time. I don't like Jet and Droy nor do I think she should've gotten with them but seeing her with Gajeel just leaves a weird taste in my mouth. Now if it had taken years of him making it up to her or even trying to be better for awhile I'd be fine with it. Though just how rushed it happened seems poorly written and in bad taste.
