@crudebuster what does USA have to do with it? Did they make some laws during their occupation of Japan after WWII?

I only think it is absurd that a country where you can produce some extreme content, with all kinds of fetishes, has a censorship laws against showing genitalia. I been on internet for quite some time and futanari could be categorized as "soft porn" when compared with other stuff that comes out of Japan.

@aooo Open a WWII history book. Read the part where Japan was defeated and had to disband their military among other things because they lost the damn war.

Censorship was one of those. And as Metamoran said, no politician wants to burn their career to ashes reverting it.

@crudebuster do some googling before making absurd claims like that. The law was put into effect in 1907. It was part of a general censorship law. It does still exist because it's politically toxic, though. That, and older Japanese people have been responding harshly to younger people and their (relative to the older people) extreme tastes. I can't really blame them, what with how crazy hentai has become, but it's still a shame.

The censorship has nothing to do with USA. In fact, there is no law requiring it. Distributing porn (or "indecent material") in Japan was, and still is, officially ILLEGAL.

Censorship was put in place by the porn industry themselves to avert that law, so they were less "indecent ", in the same vein as nudity was censored in the news. They call it "self-regulation", or "自主規制".

So be thankful, if not for the censorship, you won't be seeing as many porn from Japan.

BTW, this doujin circle is from Taiwan, so you can grab their Chinese version, without censorship.
