For some reason people keep acting like this is some kinda weird Japanese propaganda, when it's actually pretty starkly realistic about how terrible Japanese leadership and their total lack of ability to match American industrial might.

@Notalent

That sentiment stems from how patriotic the IJN ship-girls are, ie. calling Americans and British butchers and pigs and believing in the Greater East-Asian Prosperity Sphere 100%. It makes sense for the time period but it comes off as very strange to Western audiences for very obvious reasons. KanColle itself stays away from making references to anything that could be controversial (like how Tone and I-8's crews were complicit in war crimes) outside of some rare exceptions (Kitakami implying that she doesn't want to be equipped with kaiten torpedoes).

I think the actual author is not trying to be too biased in this series; it's just that it wouldn't make sense for anyone in the IJN or IJA outside of the very top leaders to *not* believe that superior Nippon spirit could outmatch American steel.

Just a minor mistake that I'd like to tell the translater. A6M "Zero" auto cannon's barriel length is 20mm not 90mm XD

@AceWind: Good spotting, that was a typo. I also found some other minor issues that will fix later.

Huh, this is actually reasonably accurate. If there's one major nationalist-Japanese angle I've noticed here, it's that they seem to be scapegoating the Imperial General Headquarters as the main culprit for the problems that plagued their war effort. This is easy to do and absolves historic figures like Tojo of responsibility - the IJN made plenty of poor decisions over the course of the war that quickly snowballed into an unwinnable situation.

I never expected to get a history lesson from a doujin (and it was literally more complete than actual history class). I salute the guys who had the patience to translate all this

It's surprising at how he's doing a serious history lesson with this as opposed to his usual thing (basically killing off characters or worse as his venting at such things)

pg 15, "If you want to leave it with to me," should be, "with me"
pg 15, "the commander-in-chief will of course be from Army," should be, "from the Army"
pg 16, "forced out of Ukraine of the Soviet Union" the wording sounds weird (forced out of the Ukranian Soviet Union?).
pg 16, "Prime Minster also the Army Minister and Munition Minister", Minster should be Minister.
pg 29, "they just caused a fires", should be, "a fire"
pg 32, "We can't give release our mine supply", should be, "give release of our mine supply"
pg 33, "on the 20th, 19th and 21st," it should be, "on the 19th, 20th and 21st"
pg 38, "and our forces win a great victory!", should be, "won a great victory!"
pg 40, "You can see she that never" should be, "You can see that she never"

"I dont understand submarines very well", I found that one to be funny.

Any historical reason for Yuugumo surviving? That was a nice little scene, but it's inclusion is odd.

What exactly is the target audience for this?
Japanese navy otaku I guess?
Either way, the girls are cute and I've been fascinated with the IJN so I'm not complaining...
On pg 13: "What a loser Mussolini is"... but of course Mussolini never surrendered; he continued leading the Salo Republic of Northern Italy after being rescued by Otto Skorzeny in the Gran Sasso raid.
It was the Prime Minister Bedoglio and King Victor Emmanuel II who surrendered, and couldn't even stay in their own country as they had to evacuate.
