i love that ending!!! the guy loses composure and he knows it but instead of trying to regain that cold controlling demeanor from earlier he lets things play out. this makes the wife think hes forgiven her but to seal the deal she needs to be compliant for the moment.... or so she thinks. in actuality the guy uses this to get all the info on the other guy he can to later use in court because he only has info on his wife and needs to investigation the guy but has no substantial leads. now he can just enjoy dominating his whore wife while he waits for the investigation into the guy to finish and even if she sees the guy again she will either be on the lookout and avoid the dude or she basically accelerates the investigation.

Even a cursory proofread would have fixed this up. TL has the classic signs of being done by an ESL translator, very usual for the tenses to be mixed around like that. Overall, not that I'm complaining. Good work, and I loved the read, but could've been made even nicer.

Anyways - this act of recording your loved ones is much, much more common than people think. Unfortunately I haven't worked directly in a law firm that works in family law, but I do work for a law firm that does med mal, accident benefits, stuff like that. Insurance companies having people tailed and recorded is super common - I've watched hours of videos where crazy shit happens. But the craziest shit is the stuff that doesn't come into the firm I work at, but people who work in family law. Like divorce lawyers, lawyers who fight for custody, etc. And it's only getting more common in this world where many people have dash-cams and the like, to have all sorts of recording devices for audio and video. The stories I've heard from some lawyers and folks who work with that stuff - insane. I'll give you guys one example in a story that fits very close to this one: a guy had suspected his wife was cheating on him. So he rigged multiple cameras in areas of his house. Turns out, the wife was fucking not just some random guy, but a town councilor (and in his own bed to boot). He had recordings after the fact too, interactions between her and random people, friends, himself, the kids, all sorts of stuff. He was divorcing her and wanted full custody of the kids. Obviously not sure how it turned out, but yeah. This kind of stuff can be valid in a court of law (it always depends on a variety of factors for admissibility, but quite often is) and it's only becoming more and more common. And that's just the sophisticated stuff. People secretly recording their spouses, significant others on their phones, or dinky hidden cameras... Apparently this is becoming so common one guy always tells his clients "always act and talk as if you're being recorded".

Also - apparently the old adage of 'men cheat because they're sexually unsatisfied at home, women cheat because they are emotionally unsatisfied at home" rings true. As well as "if they cheat once, you can recover and make it work. If they cheat twice, it's just over". A guy I know says some people will come up to them heartbroken because their spouse cheated, and he tells them if it's only happened the one time, to try and work it out and seek counselling, and says in a surprising amount of times he never hears from them again. But if they cheat twice, they're just never going to stop. But hey - those are the words of a guy who is - in colloquial terms - a 'divorce lawyer', so take that with a grain of salt.
