In a world like this, changing gender at will is only slightly more difficult than changing an hairstyle.
There is a form of social filter, but it is not excessively restrictive, because, as we have seen, even minors can easily carry out the process quickly, safely and above all, legally.
In these conditions the morality of the current society is completely obsolete and ineffective.
The laws that regulate moral taboos must be completely reworked and rewritten.
Perhaps only pedophilia will remain intact as a crime and a moral taboo.

It's interesting to see here the ideas of biological essentialist thought at play here, where the author implies that the primary social barrier, in a perfect society, is whether or not someone is in possession of a penis. In Japan, one of the requirements for transgender people to have their official gender marker - as indicated on their government identification - changed, is to undergo sterilization through surgery. While this is the case in some other countries, the idea is considered regressive by modern psychiatric authorities, who propose that someone's gender identity lives in the mind independent of gender presentation or their natal genitals.
