Nice to have one constructive answer that actually explain it. (i was interested in the point of view from someone who does like this).

What I personally find most astonishing is that violence in whatever form, for whatever reason is perfectly acceptable. Blow ones brains out because you dont like the face, no problem, floods of blood, guts n' gore smeared over the pages for whatever ridicoulous reason is good, or at least ok even for children. Sacrificed virgins, slaughtered warriors, disembowled prisoners, slashed, hacked, sliced, blown up, executed, gassed, drowned, suffocated, beheaded, hung, stabbed, dissolved in acid, you name it it is depicted, and nobody's got a problem, or it's at least not topic of debate, disgust and open outrage.

@ Bahut, everything you just listed there fals in the same categorie of deploreable behavior. Any kind of violence, torture, abuse (and the list goes on ofc.) is evil. I can only speak for myself but I like the fear and submission represented in Guro works. That said not all Guro is created equal for me, I like clean stuff like suffocation or electrocution and I like girls who are enthusiastic (even if they start out apprehensive) about chasing death as an erotic thrill, ironically I don't like the cruelty or sadism usually depicted in male or dominant characters. I'm not much of a sadist myself but I like narratives about people chasing the things that make them feel good and in the case of guro it is climaxing as your life ends.
