Aww yes, the “mate” thing. You see the word that Japanese Wolf uses to refer to him roughly translates to “male” or “man”, but this particular variant of the word is normally only ever used to refer to a male counterpart of an animal species. Thusly I felt the best rendering for her term for him was indeed “my mate”. Could’ve used “my man” but I felt it wouldn’t properly express the animalistic personality of the girl.
