Typesetting by Ironstorm (me)

I tried filling in the white spaces created by huge characters bleeding out of the speech bubbles.

I still don't know any better methods than the clone tool (I use GIMP).

Fonts are the same as in our last translation job but slightly larger so as to fit the speech bubbles better.

Feedback is appreciated.

Font wise i would suggest you all caps type font, i saw you use in some pages (normally i would just slap A.C.M.E Secret Agent font)
Edit or cleaning wise, i dont notice anything too broken, which is good

Page 8 did require redraw so it can't be helped. You can still clean it up with a mouse though, using lasso and just new layer on top of new layers, clone tool gets messy sometimes.

As a fellow GIMP user I'll explain my method for redrawings (probably not the best but it works for me).
First I create a new layer for whiting out bubbles and possible textures (depends on if you want to redraw destructive or not).
Then a second new layer for lines on top of the others. (If necessary).
First redraw the lines with the help of the path tool on the lines layer (e.g outlines for hair)
Next step would be the texture on the layer under the lines layer.
I just can't get the clone tool to match the patterns of the cloned area and original area.
Instead I select an area with similar texture with one of the selection tools.
Then I copy the area ctrl+shift+c and add the copied area as a floating layer ctrl+v.
Then I move the floating and try to match the patterns of the layer and the original picture until it's seemless at best. (corrections on brightness may be needed)
Next I adjust the shape of the floating with the eraser (unlocking the alpha channel needed)
Final step is anchoring the floating layer.
Than repeat until the jap. text is covered completly.

Thanks for the share, but some of the text is way too tiny; compounded by some poor font choices that don't work well at those sizes, it makes some bubbles nearly unreadable, unless one zooms in.
If you really have no option but to go with small font sizes, IMO it's best to use some regular comic font. Also, breaking up words can allow you to use a bigger font.

BTW there's plenty of untranslated stuff that's easier to edit than this one... Until you're comfortable redrawing backgrounds I'd avoid works that have such narrow floating text . Those are a tough nut to crack even for experienced editors, it's very time consuming to get a passable result.

but i suggest you to use bigger font size and go full caps lock next time. using common comic font as suggested above also work
making the reader enjoying what they read also part of a typesetter job after all (^_^)v
