Actually there are quite a few mass murderers that didn't touch their family and wouldn't have. John Wayne Gaycy had a good relationship with his family off the top of my head. Nothing hinted that he was a rapist. I'd consider this an impromptu adoption. Also if you noticed, she was already beaten beforehand hence why she ran away. He's on death row, and the writer doesn't say it's ok to murder shitty people, hence why he's on death row. No, it's not deep but it's not trying to be, it's just a story about character relationships and how some monsters can be family or saviors to others. 2/10, kid thinks he can analyze and is therefore deep, but actually isn't.

whade: it's not criticism in general that's getting downvotes, it's *your* criticism.

- 'old' isn't criticism
- there's no 'mass' murderer in this story
- there's no rapist in this story
- the murder isn't portrayed as right

Additionally, if you think murderer psychology is one-dimensional enough to state 'that isn't how it works', you probably don't know much about psychology.

I misread this as Zangief the Butler.

Reminds me of an urban legend in my hometown, guy was killing bad people and would ground up their bodies and cook it and give it to people he knew were bad. Story ends as he became a monster but preys on hose that abuse others.

Well, this kind of story really gets to me, the guy recognized his worst traits after the biggest fuck up of his life, then when he was free again he tried to live a simple life, but sadly his newfound love for someone else brought him to protect them in the worst way possible, while understandable, he acknowledged his mistakes and ended up paying with his life and freedom, a slight ray of hope is that while he didn't escaped his fate, he did found redemption ensuring the safety of the little girl.

While some people may say that reality doesn´t have happy endings, the reality of this story is that even in the pits of misery, where we may never crawl out off, there are still rays of hope that can carry us forward, letting us know that our existence does have a meaning.

Edit: sorry if i got kinda cheesy with that, putting your feelings and thoughs on words can make you like that.
