The difference here is that Proxer's comic was going one direction for half the comic, then did a drastic turn into a different, darker sort of kink later, so it's understandable why people would be upset there and lower the rating; at one point they enjoyed it and suddenly that enjoyment was ruined.

This on the other hand was pretty blatant from the start on what it was going to be about, so it's kind of not fair to be rating it badly just because the kink doesn't appeal to you instead of on the quality of the work. It doesn't appeal to me either, but I'm not going to rate it low just because it doesn't appeal to me. I'm just not going to rate it at all since I can't judge it fairly on its quality to begin with.

@Deiser This, exactly. The ratings system is supposed to be a way to judge the quality of the upload, not whether it conforms to your tastes. That’s what tags are for, so you can better distinguish what kinds of things you want to see.

If you don’t like it, but it’s still good quality work, then just *don’t rate it*. It’s clearly not meant for you, don’t just go barging into random fetish galleries and blasting 0 star ratings because you don’t get the kink.

It’d be like if I went into every yaoi gallery and left a 0 star rating and vitriolic comment because I’m not gay. That’s not how shit works, dude.

...S'fair Deiser. I think part of why it might be universal, is there isn't really a 'torture porn' tag, outside of Ryona/Gyaro, and this really is, at its core, torture porn. It lacks the sense of 'karma' that some of the better works have, and it also lacks the sense of unrealness, and perhaps...playfullness that some other stuff has, like Angrboda and Abe E Seedy's.

This is VERY realistically done brainwashing, absent the magical elements, with pure malice behind it. This stuff isn't given away in the tags. So, people come in expecting something similar to Inheritance...and instead get this. Heck, even Breaking and Entering has back and forth and such, wheras Arcadia proper is more unrealistic. This is BLATENTLY "I am going to rape you until you start to like it." (Which...doesn't have a tag, so people are more likely to enter it expecting a more traditional sequence)

That said, I'm NOT giving it a negative rating myself. Just pointing out why it...shocks people.

@JuankiMan Bingo. If someone likes these stories, more power to them. Hell, I'm no stranger to dark smut. But I'm also honest with myself about the stuff that I'm into. I helped create the English translation of "Turned Into a Breast Milk Fountain" back in 2017. And if I told anybody that it ISN'T a fucked up story, I'd be lying through my teeth.

@MitchellTF This is exactly my issue. I actually like some of CoraBlue's work. Heck, I don't even necessarily mind stories where a protagonist is being kept prisoner. What really gets under my skin is mental abuse and having a protagonist not only having their own mind warped, but KNOWING that it's happening to them and being unable to do anything about it. That is straight-up nightmare fuel as far as I'm concerned.

And a problem with that is....that's not a thing we have a single specific tag for. All I can do is hope I don't come across that stuff, and start avoiding work from a particular artist if that's everything they do. But I actually LIKE plenty of CoraBlue's work, so filtering out their work isn't really ideal either. Just gotta sort through this stuff as it comes along, and hope I don't come across stuff that gets under my skin, I guess?

I guess I'm also a little sad that there seem to be some so vehemently against it. I know it would appeal to everybody but this kinda really got me in the feels... I guess because of my own family life and experiences growing up too fast and having to take care of an emotional mess of a mother, a lot of my fantasies revolve around having an otherworldly-powerful or magical maternal/paternal figure adopt me and forcefully take away my adult burdens but make up for it by caring for me in ways I blundered through life. Kinda a clean-slate, new start thing plus trust and reliance issues.

Add to that the changeling aspects (I quite like old Celtic and modern faerie lore)... I really love the exploration Corablue has done in these few Arcadia stories. I know they're certainly not for everyone. I'm not really a fan of ABDL stuff, rather preferring Daddy/Mommy Dom + Little, but since this just used cum rather than any sort of scat, it managed to avoid grossing me out.
