obviously Goblin slayer is going to lose as his entire character is the unlikelihood of someone like him being as successful as he is. like everything has to stake in the exact right place with little to no wiggle room for him to win and with the goblins having the mage girl (who admittedly being a priest with the implication that she needs some kind of divination from the church to use more magics meaning she wouldn't be all that versatile on her own) means the goblins are far better off. Goblin Slayer stands no chance and this story is basically building up to him finding everyone in his life dead and or whored out as he always was at the wrong place at the right time missing the chance to save them and having no success at anything he cant even get the other guild members to help him as they will also be systematically destroyed
