This was a 5/5 no doubt Azasuke knows how to draw Revy's ass. And well let's be honest, trying to explain the relationship between Rock and Revy is kind of hard... They care for each other to the point that you could say there's some level of love there...but is extremely twiste to the point that seems to be more like co-dependence... And you can make arguments for basically both sides but i honestly see no point in doing that xD

I really like the way you described Rock and Revy's relationship, especially your second comment on the matter which rings absolutely true.

That said, I still believe there's love in this, though it's really hard to notice. Fact is, both Rock and Revy are broken people desperate for some mending - he was the outcast of his family and lived a dull grey life as a salaryman in Japan, and was tossed away like so much trash by his company when they had to save face, and she went through so much shit from when she was a kid, be it her father, the cops and whatever else she had to deal with while growing up.

Them complementing each other in a twisted way might look like codependancy, but I want to believe there's something more at work. And I'm absolutely sure Revy would go on a self-destructive rampage the moment Rock exits from her life (and on Rock's side, he'd do anything to not go back to his dull gray world, I mean the bastard has learned to enjoy being a crook so why try to clean himself when being a crook feels good?).

Hhhmm, to protect Rock, Revy did point her guns at balaliaka, ONE of the few people Revy genuinely respects and bows her pride to avoid getting on the bad side of.

Thats the closet instance id call "love" in the show. Revy knows exactly what balaliaka is capable of and even repremands Rock for almost getting them both killed even thought she could of kept herself neutral by stepping out of it.

At that moment i can honestly say that Revy puts her role as Rocks partner above her own life.

Though, Rock on the other hand has never gone out of his way to protect Revy from danger,in fact he's far more comfortable in running as she does all the killing. Which is fine because that's the core of their partnership right there.

But on the other hand Rock is the only person in the show outside of balaliaka who can read the hidden emotions that Revy hides from people. Her human weaknesses that she'd long since tried pretending no longer bother her.

Rock knows that Revy is not a happy person and is constantly trying to get her to open up so he can figure out what make her tick, he's not a good person for doing this, he wasn't lying when he said getting involved with dangerous situations that have nothing to do with him wasn't him seeking justice,it was a hobby, a very morbid hobby.

Revy even if she would not admit it is constantly thinking about living a normal life like Rock did,balalaika picked up on this almost instantly when she told Revy she could never go the same path as Rock and live as a normal person, its far too late for that.

Fantasy or not Revy knows this and bottles it up with achohal and cigarettes.

Honestly I don't think it's Rocks personality, brain or charm she cares about,its his role, he's the green horn,the innocent, the weakest link.

He'll die without protection, Revy is probably patting herself on the back for everyday she manages to keep him alive.
