Lou can "understand" Eerie due to their long standing bond, and has said that she more or less is deducing what is being said.
Lou can't understand Pixie's skree-ing, but Pixie is able to write human language, which she uses to communicate with Lou (as long as another method they worked out as the writing method limits communication).

I think I'm making a bad habit of reviewing random comics like these and rating them, but I do like doing this so here we go.
Much like a lot of people have commented, I went in here seeing if this was porn, and what I got was a great drama with excellent line work and art skills mixed within the Pokemon universe. What I didn't expect however, was it actually making sense within the Pokemon universe, about how these things could actually happen within it, and not just basing it around the games. I love how trainers are "chosen", not just by their looks, but it's also based around what job the "Trainer Registration Service" deemed you worthy for, like you actually have to have qualifications for becoming a "Beauty" trainer, or becoming a Hex Maniac, and it makes it seem like they are actual jobs instead of just, well, hobbies that a lot of people have that just isn't you. I also love how the Nuzlock is within this universe, and it is also coped with regular trainer battles, instead of it being the main focus of it like so many other comics do. The dark, gritty color palate that the artist uses is also an amazing choice for what they wanted, even though I cannot see color being monochromatic colorblind, I can at least tell that everything mixes very well, and fits the theme of "Drama". All in all, right of this moment since it's not finished, I am expecting new pages now and cannot wait for it to be fully finished so I can review this properly, and hopefully point out flaws from it, but I rather wait to point out flaws until the entire comic is finished. If I were to give this a rating, right now it's 9/10 so far, so I hope it keeps doing very well like it has been.

Setup Clefable would put massive holes in that mono ice team. Stealth rocks would hurt and bait in a rapid spin from avalugg and sandslush and since clefable gets fire blast would waste both of them. With cosmic power and soft boiled you have a lot of time to punch massive holes before needing to switch out. Unaware makes stat changes on the opponents side absolutely worthless and a magic guard clefable would stop toxic stalling dead in its tracks. Anyway, that's my competitive ass analyzing the team

I was pretty much neutral on Laure before, maybe even a bit positive, but those two panels was all that's needed to burn that to the ground.
I am not sure I can think of a context that lessens that effect to be honest.
Also, this Lose-Lose scenario reminds me a lot of the Lou from the beginning and her talks with Annabelle.
Eagerly awaiting more/ some kind of resolution (though not expecting any reconciliation)

I think it isn't necessarily a decision in regards to her image. Or at least entirely.
There were three choices for her at that point if we assume that the narration is correct and Lou's is woefully underpowered to beat her as i really don't know the intricacies of strong/weak vs types etc.

1) Laure beats down Lou.
Result: More enmity between them to likely complete separation. Her image takes the least damage (as she could likely do it with elegance)

2) She loses on purpose.
Result: Lou knows it was on purpose so is even more angry. The audience and commentators are befuddled as to wtf happened. Her image takes the greatest hit.

3) She gives up.
Result: Lou is befuddled as it goes against her image of Laure. Likely also a lot of anger but with some curiosity behind it. Damage to her image depends on how she can spin her actions. Though that has to be done carefully to not alienate Lou via whatever explanation becomes generally accepted. (Such as an explanation of 'Mom letting her kid win because she is the bigger person and the battle is irrelevant in her eyes' would hurt any reconciliation attempt with Lou)

Her decision was likely the best one she could use with that little time to sort through possibilities. She gets Lou to at least go WTF to some degree along with her just getting angry. And the image loss is variable but not necessarily great.

Still not really happy about her giving up, but thinking about it more it was the likely most rational decision if she doesn't want to alienate Lou entirely.
And the story has predicated itself on people learning to make rational/thought through decisions instead of knee-jerk surface-level ones.
Personally I blame Annabelle.

As is her expression is fine but clashes a bit with her tone becoming softer.

So she was raised away from Laure (which explains the original backstory at the start of the story), so now the question is why did that happen.
And considering that laure does not appear to have some sort of partnership with anyone i feel something went terribly wrong there.

@swifty995: Well it has to do with the way I wanted to unravel the story; rather than a "linear" story", I thought it'd be fun to try and tell the story in reverse, starting with situations that already happened and giving info as to why it happened and the context it happened in progressively in a breadcrumb way

The fact that I didn't want to do an Alfie-long comic (bless you Incase, but I have no idea how you ever had the patience for 900 pages) and set a definite set of pages for the entire story may have forced me to adapt a pace that may not allow me to properly set the context; I kinda had to "rewrite" part of this chapter to extend it because it would have been too fast and too confusing NOT to have deeper context ><

Hubert becoming a good friend is both pleasant and less surprising to me than I expected it to be. Hubert would have been at least somewhat familiar with the way the Lacroix family operates and how their daughters are expected to carry themselves, and yet he loved Laure anyway. So either it was a shallow one-sided attraction or he understood her better than she thought. What does surprise me is that she reciprocated his friendship over those years to the point that she actually could regard him as her only friend.

In Short: 9 (page 107), Aya was thankful she dated Lou years ago because it improved her endurance in sex. But in page 48 Lou said Aya only wanted to make their relationship serious in order to sleep with her. I'm quite confused. Perhaps Aya and Lou had sex during their relationship but Lou's dialogue in page 48 implies they never had sex. The Short: 9 could also imply that their relationship was exhausting for Aya, hence the improved endurance. But I'm really confused. Can anyone help me out?

You haven't provided a single morsel of argumentation to your ad personam spiel despite me citing in this very comment thread that I was open to any criticism or suggestion so long as they were constructive or at least polite. You can fuck off, go read something else, and show us how great YOU are at scripts. I'm sure you'll find a willing artist with that attitude. Or perhaps you are a liberal arts major. @WatsonJohn: It's my fault with the early comic AND the new Shorts. When I did part 49, I wanted to imply that they had a relationship that was physical indeed, but that it wasn't a serious one, and Lou thought that Aya pretended to be serious so they could have another physical relationship again. I've got a proofreader that also script-doctors it since the beginning of chapter 1, because while Lexander likes the smell of their own farts, they're somewhat correct in the fact that being both an artist and writing the script is hard, as you're generally better at either one of these skills and rarely skilled at both. I'm trying to improve in both, but there may be incoherence I miss here and there as I try to build on what I wrote prior to the post prologue reread and expansion of some aspects of the story. :3

Which is why proper reader feedback is great and useful!

@The-Kite I'm not reading it here, I'm commenting here because you banned me from commenting on Hentai Foundry when I asked a question that you took as personal criticism.

Now, regarding your actual points, firstly, "you do better" isn't a valid counterargument. Even a 10 year old would know that much, then again, you seem angry. I guess my previous post hit a nerve in spite of all you're abnegations. Secondly, you're story is week. Melodramatic, overly verbose at times, and poorly written for the medium you are releasing it in. You're releasing this on the web, page by page not as a floppy one issue at a time. Based on how the last dozen or so pages have been I'm going to guess you didn't actually take into account the release scheduled when you were writing this. Based on the format of most pages that came after the prologue I'm going to also guess you either forgot this might be something you want to put in print on day or are actually going for the webtoon crown. Either way the prologue isn't really ideal for smartphones and most of the rest is also of debatable readability on a smartphone. For a visual medium you also rely far too much on narration.

When this was first posted here my first reaction was one of admiration, this was of more then decent quality and in more then acceptable quality. Past the prologue though the rest of the comic has felt more like a series of vignettes covering select moments of Lou's life. While in theory that's how stories are supposed to work, in practice the reader isn't supposed to notice the scene transitions. And the only reason they're noticeable is because of the aforementioned melodrama. Each scene has it's own mood, and the melodrama pushes it to the extreme.

If you actually want constructive criticism, go read a good webcomic to see how you write for a format were you release little bits of content on the regular. I recommend Schlock Mercenary. The last 100 or so pages should be enough to show you how you write for the medium you're in as opposed to for the medium you think you're in.

So i can only suppose that your "question" similar to your first "critique": a dismissive, condescending comment that sounds more like "I'm so superior, let me explain how bad you do things" than "Hey I think this could be improved this way, what do you think?", for which I wouldn't have had the time for.

"Do better" IS a valid counterargument when you're dealing with someone who talks in absolutes with your level of certainty. Whether my story is "good" or "bad" isn't something I can objectively quantify and most of you readers will often decide that depending of whether or not you like it or not. If you assert that the story is bad as a FACT, you'd better be able to back up your assertions, else it simply becomes like, your opinion man. So start by actually defining what is a good story before you lecture people what they should do. What do you KNOW about making a story that you could rely on well enough to accurately direct someone on how to make theirs? If the answer is "nothing, I never wrote anything and I don't know how to draw but I read that story that's good because I liked it", it's fine, it really is, but that's just your opinion, based on what you think is good, that itself based on your subjective tastes. So yeah, if you want to throw yourself as a ruler with which to measure good and bad, either be able to back it up, or perhaps consider that you don't hold the truth.

About what I CAN use in that actual attempt at critiquing:
- The smartphone point and formats in general: I wrote this story with a computer screen in mind. It may make the pages hard to read on smartphones, but then again the sites I use to post aren't exactly smartphone friendly. I didn't plan this story to go for print because it's not a IP I created. To be fully honest, the format itself has evolved as I explored it, because this is my first long-form comic, and I do have things to learn about this medium.

- Relying too much on narration on a visual medium: I can see that, yeah, I'll think about it.

- The upload schedule: The upload schedule doesn't concern anyone else but me. It's the way it is because, surprise, this comic isn't the only thing going in my life, and I can't produce more pages than this as of now per weeks. The upload schedule was initially one pages per days at launch, but as the production value changed, the schedule evolved in consequence. All in all, it will not change. If someone is unhappy with my upload schedule, well...

@ The-Kite Sigh, I think you really missed the whole point of the schedule thing. The problem isn't the periodicity of your release schedule, it's the writing. You're not in comics, you're in webcomics. You're not releasing one manga chapter, or issue, or album at a time. You're releasing one page at a time. And you're not actually writing this with that idea in mind.

When you write a comic you divide the script into pages - at least I hope you do - then the pages into panels. What you have to do in webcomic that you don't have to do in more traditional avenues is ask yourself how each individual page reads without all the pages that follow in your script. Each page has to be entertaining on it's own, it has to further the story thus far, but it must not depend on pages yet to come.

Don't get me wrong, this is not just a you problem, and not just a webcomic problem. I have a hardcover Metabarons omnibus behind me and reading that all at once sucks because it was written to be released as a series of albums over several years. Each album starts with a recap of the previous one and the story thus far. Great if you read it when it came out originally, really annoying if you're trying to read the entire story at once and have to read periodic recaps of stuff you just finished reading.

You don't seem to have written this as a webcomic but as a traditional comic that you are releasing one page at a time - which makes it a badly written webcomic.

I hope this was clearer.

When writing something like this the artist really needs to ask if they want to write a serious comic with nsfw parts, or if they just wanna write a serious comic, because opening with 2 back to back sex scenes within 10 pages of each other, and then ~80 pages (not even including the 1 off shorts) of, at most, T&A, before the next one, is just going to A. making the horny people drop it out of boredom, and B. make the comic impossible to recommend as a serious thing because trying to sell a comic with this name, and that opening, as something with nuanced and well written characters, is just not worth the effort and embarrassment you'll probably get. (Because you are trying to sell porn for the plot, and people will just think you're horny on main)

You CAN have both, Alfie is great at doing both, but you need to keep that NSFW aspect chugging along at a consistent pace or people will stop caring, because that's what you marketed as when you open with porn, and trying to do that honestly seems like a lot of work for little extra pay-off.
