Red's rant: I just don't understand why some characters get a ton of doujins and some, almost none. Like, Carmilla here. Ready-for-bondage dress vampire, and all she gets is like a four doujins that with one exception nobody bothered to translate until now. Can anyone explain to me why she is so unpopular?

She was popular enough to get a summer version. The problem is that in Fate Grand Order, she has to contend against the most popular girls in the franchise. And while Carmilla is a 9.7/10, straight out 10/10 girls are not that hard to find. Doesn't help her than her younger self is incredibly charismatic.

I'm not sure if the reason why Carmilla gets so little art is due to the "slut" idea. It seems to me that quieter servants don't get much stuff done, only for special occasions. Nightingale frankly doesn't have a whole lot of work in a more wholesome area, with most work dealing with the halloween costume or the "physical exam" joke, some wholesome nightingale doujins do exist, but most are untranslated. Then there are servants like Altera or Penthesilea, who're pretty godlike, yet has absolutely nothing done for them.

Also, Carmilla just has most of the fetish-y aspects of her character done by other people. Like Lancer Artoria or Raikou (more iconic servants) for the big tits aspect. The Japanese might also just not care about the character, since not even the Elizabeth Bathory aspect gets much stuff done, with most being about her Brave version with generic monster/slime bestiality works. Elizabeth also gets a larger portion of the singular personality stick compared to Carmilla, with Carmilla essentially having "sad/regretful" as her entire personality. Hopefully, with the event servant version, Carmilla might get more attention/personality.
