I thought this took place in the same universe as the Red Riding Hood story. Looks like the War is weighing heavily on both sides. Also, the last panel on page 6 is cute. Her face says "Well.... damn."

I really like this. It has a serious tone to the story so far, which is appropriate for a silent piece. The silence actually feels appropriate with the implications of the setting thus far. With page six, though, we see that it will have a variety of tones, as appropriate. Interesting, complicated narratives are definitely one of Naylor's strong areas.

Of course, this is clearly an adult comic, so I'm still waiting for the other boot to drop. Will the hunter end up having some weird wolf girl-based fetish? Is the girl going to 'thank' him by brewing up some cotton wine? Are the two respective factions going to find them and completely destroy an otherwise-happy relationship? Who knows?!
But, it's Naylor, so you know it's not just gonna be two consenting adults having sex. Sooner or later, things are gonna get weird.

If I had to guess, I'd say it was other wolves/tribals that killed those red guys. Purely because the spear sticking out of the wolf on the second page has a little white fur charm on it that's very similar to the ones on the club that (presumably) belonged to the survivor, while human soldiers in the Little Red Riding Hood series are typical medieval fantasy guys that don't strike me as ones to have fur charms on their weapons or leave them behind after the battle.

Although I'm not a fan of his cuckolding stuff, I do like his art and his writing is pretty solid. It's not great, but it's not as bad as people make it out to be. I usually like Jay Naylor's stuff, but his art doesn't really work with serious topics. the eyes are too big and cartoony, and going realistic with that style makes the characters look like fursuits. still, it is good to see him branch out. I really liked his Red Riding Hood series

I think the cottonwine element is only with certain Wolf tribes, not all of them. To be fair though, the stories made it seem like every anthro race, for some unknown reason, dabbles with cottonwine.

To be honest, that part of the story always bugged me. How come all the other species are effected by cottonwine the same way except for humanoid males? (There are elves AND other humanish species in that world) I could understand certain species (Like maybe, just the wolves), but ALL of the non-human ones? The only thing I can think of, is that some undefined length of time ago, an unknown entity created cottowine to purposely destroy/weaken the humanoid races.

If I'm guessing this right, she was involved with the big grey wolf of the other tribe. Then their tribes went to war for whatever reason and her tribe was wiped out and her kin's heads were placed on pikes. And while recuperating in a hastily made den, she realized she was badly in heat. So she sought out the other tribe. But after seeing the male she once desired so easily having moved on to another female, she realized the human who showed her complete kindness by treating her wounds would be a better potential mate than any of the local wolf bastards fucking and smoking in the woods while surrounded by rotting heads. So I don't really blame her for going back. At least the human will treat her better. Even if they never decide to communicate verbally.

You know, I actually got curious if the stuff the wolf girl says is a real language so I just *had* to try google translate. I know its not the most reliable thing out there but it was mostly for laughs really. Now of course translate was a bit confused but it tried to guess which language it was and it was identified as Maori.

You know what is kind of tragic and yet very funny at the same time? Of all the comics by Jay Naylor I've read around here, and even went as far to make my own poorly rewritten version of "The Itch", this has got to be THE best comic Naylor has ever done. And that is ONLY because the characters rarely spoke or at least understood each other.
The typical format is there, a poorly executed build up and pay off and a abrupt ending with no real closure but at least you don't have to suffer through walls upon walls of text about Naylor's views and opinions about sex, gender roles and other things he feels like writing about expressed by his characters. You just can enjoy some porking.
The funnier part to me personally is that now that "Online", the sequel to "Offline" is being posted, I can't help but to chuckle about how everyone will and has and continues to state that we all wish that Naylor would just shut up and make his silent comics instead... I know that I'm one of them.

I always loved this tribal aspect of Jay's works, its consistent and feels like im reading a story of a distant land and not various fantasies.

This is just me. But in all honesty, I kind of find Jaynaylor's humans kind of...... weird.
I mean they dont look bad, but they also dont look that good either. I mean when it comes to furry characters yes he is top-notched but there is just something 'off' regarding his humans. I enjoy Huckleberry Ann and all the derivatives still though.

People here acting like this is a masterpiece. To me its basic. Anthro X Human content is as basic as it gets. Not much fetish fuel which left me slogging through the comic until it just ended. Art work is amazing, the subtle story telling without words is always a joy to see but the basic sex and lack of fetish fuel made it a bore in my opinion.

A nice, brief story, with a happy ending...? I liked it. I especially like, with how everything else seems in the world, that the clearing where the man lives seems a place of such peace. Blah blah it makes me happy, and the artwork is damn hot too.
