I really enjoyed working on this one (even though the typesetting was difficult). It came to life nicely with some saturation and the story was fun. I'm already translating another of Sensei's works, but if it takes as long as this one it'll be quite a while before it gets posted. There are plenty more that I'd like to do, but most of those I can't even read because of the typesetting. If anyone wants to help with those, let me know. One of them is this one: Otto ni Ichizu na Tsuma no Ura Fuuzoku Arbeit Nikki

I think this is the original version: https://e-hentai.org/g/1297763/c1ffd0259b/

The colors look a bit off though. Other than that, the translation looks pretty decent. This still has excellent x-ray, even with these intense colors.

They don't just look a bit off, it is fucking awful compared to the original version.

"It came to life nicely with some saturation" Yeah, uhm no, you murdered it and didn't even give it a proper burial. Thanks for the translation though.

Nice, finally tl'd and while I don't mind the saturated version, it would've much appreciated if you also included the original colored one and uploaded that separately.

Thank you for the translation.

The problem about changing color saturation is that of (1) artificially biased perception and (2) non-pantone calibrated display monitors.

As perception goes, if you've been watching The Simpsons before working on this, then perhaps the colors might look undersaturated. As for adjustments, when changing saturation, one doesn't change it so that the largest areas look as what you want. Instead, you have limits such as the faces shouldn't change such that the skin color becomes a yellowish orange. Granted, it is not yellow skin like what The Simpsons uses, but the characters have unnatural skin color as you can see from looking at the original https://e-hentai.org/g/1297763/c1ffd0259b/

And if your display monitor has a color shift in its display color, then any color changes you make will conflict with other peoples' monitors. For example, if you use HDMI from your graphics card to a TV screen type monitor, the color will probably be different from what other users see using a pure monitor (no TV capability) with DVI input. And before you think the higher the price of the TV monitor, the better it must be for color adjustment work, have you seen some of those screens side by side at Costco or some other video warehouse stores? Some of those screens have very attractive "eye popping" colors with intense saturation. It makes other screens look wan or under-saturated. But using a monitor that automatically changes colours, brightness, and saturation means your images cannot be edited accurately if any colors are tweaked or gradients are .redrawn. You need a monitor that shows the truth and not one that adjusts the picture to be the best looking truth it thinks you want. So don't use a TV type monitor for editing.

This also brings up those graphics tablets that have built in color displays that you can draw upon. Many of the Chinese ones are nice and amazingly cheap compared to the $2000 wacom which is the industry standard. But are the color ranges and saturation accurate on those cheap Chinese ones? To confuse the issue (and defend the majority of their lines), the Chinese makers may have an identical model number that was released with an especially good screen and those are the ones sent to the reviewers. For example look at this economy type 21 inch graphics display drawing tablet for $399 https MEOW www MEOW walmart MEOW com/ip/Drawing-XP-PEN-Inch-8192-Pro-IPS-Artist22E-21-5-Monitor-Tablet-Express-16-Graphic-Adjustable-Pressure-Stand-Keys-Pen-Level-Dual-Display/591012439 and its color gamut range. The company sells the better version of this for $700 and it was the better version that got reviewed while this econ version is the one put up for sale. Amusingly, if you go to the XPPEN site at walmart.com you find the disclaimer that images shown are not necessarily what the product will be. If the color gamut of your monitor is low, the naturally you end up over-saturating the colors (like in this gallery) to make it look "better" on your own monitor. The color gamut range of the above tablet is a bit low in my opinion and may result in strange color choices unless you're using a limited palette (like Mogudan) or you look at your work on a different monitor for color matching purposes, but use the graphics tablet display for drawing purposes. Google "Adobe Color Gamut Coverage" if you want to know more.

@Anime Janai, although I disagree with your conclusion. I much appreciated your thoughtful comment. I have both a TV (for working) and an actual monitor (for reading comics full screen) and I like the way they look on both (the monitor is better though).

At the end of the day some people like intense colors, and some don't. For those who don't, you can very easily batch desaturate these on your own with the same free program I use: irfanview. I saturate most of the color works I download, because I like them that way. You can too.

How about you upload the fucking doujin translated and unaltered. YOU can convert and keep the over-saturated shit on your computer. Literally brown hair turned orange... Wtf.
