I would like to buy this action figure, but it is expensive.
Tifa Lockhart has always been one of my favorite video-game girls. Her front-line fighting skills, her strong spirit, balanced by her big heart (yes, her heart ;p ), and her unwavering loyalty to not just Cloud, but her friends in-general.
I found the faux-controversy how Tifa-remake looked laughable, considering her bust-proportions were pretty much the same as Tifa-original, art-wise and game-wise. If anything, I liked that they gave Tifa-remake better defined musculature and abs to reflect her physically-fit nature. ;)
@H-Knight if you find it laughable, then you haven't paid attention and you just brush it off like the most of the people as "Incels mad they don't get to fap to video game girls".
In the Square Enix announcement about the new Tifa design, they specifically said that the new design was made by input of their "ETHICS DEPARTMENT". That's what most of the people had trouble coming to terms with. Not only does a huge company like SE has an Ethics Department, which is plain ridiculous, but they have a say in the creative design as well. And you know that it doesn't stop on "Give her a longer skirt and a sportsbra" (I'm not even gonna say that they made the boobs smaller 'cause the original was so polygon-y that you couldn't tell). You can bet that Ethics department also influences dialogue (for example, no swears), character design (PC and NPC and not only looks but backgrounds etc) and more.
And how do the "Ethics Department" get to decide what society finds acceptable or not, by the way? That's what I don't get. "Oh, the liberal west world doesn't like X and Y" and "Journalists and reviewers will be upset if we include Z"? SE's "Ethics Department" is a censorship department, no more and no less. And some people don't like censorship. That's why there was a controversy. The media played it down by focusing on the boob size because companies having Ethics Department is only empowering to them (the media) and makes them feel important.
I have no problem, with the new design. In fact, Zettai Ryouki is one of my top fetishes. But I wish "Ethics Departments" and extremist journalists burned.
