@Red 255 I think the Demon King's magical powers are already sealed due to the body of the saint. So even if Anon's old grudges overpowered the experiences of a new life as Annette, there's not much actual threat. Although if the reincarnation magic is still in effect, maybe the Demon King could commit erhm.. suicide to escape the Saint's body, then return to fighting the humans in another body some decades later. Luckily for the humans it didn't turn out that way.

@ryz96 My guess is that it's a full fusion, basically Annette/Anon has a full set of memories from both lifetimes, and I suppose a new personality would emerge? The ending does leave some room for ambiguity though. The line "This girl and I" could be the demon king referring to Annette as a separate entity, implying he's also there in the back seat as an alternate personality that can emerge. On the other hand it could also be referring to their unborn child, and a full fusion of personalities has occurred. I would say the dialogue in the previous pages implies the latter though.

I don't get it, how does the "reincarnation" work? He didn't get any of his memories back until he was an adult, yet the characters talk as if the princess had always been him? It doesn't make any sense. Your memories is what makes you yourself, it's the basis for both your personality and identity... The only way this could be viewed is that the demon lord dies, Annette is born, she has a life, then she suddenly receives the demon lord's memories, becoming a fusion of herself and the demon lord. But that way the dialogue doesn't make any sense... Someone please explain

@swagmeister1337 That may be realistic, but reincarnation stories tend to gloss over that. You could rationalize it as the person's explicit memory (and maybe parts of their implicit memory) were suppressed, but core personality was retained, until one day the memories were unlocked.
