You know, in fiction, hypnotism is treated as this super-effective means of mind-controlling and/or brainwashing someone into being or doing anything that you want them to. However, in real life, that’s not how hypnotism works. Stage hypnotists and hypnotherapists will tell you that not only can you not hypnotize someone against their will, but also that even if you do hypnotize them, you can’t make them do anything they don’t want to do. Sure, a hypnotized person can be made to do odd things, but they have to be willing and agree to do that stuff beforehand, or else it just won’t work. Not to mention, a person is more likely to be hypnotized if it’s by someone they trust, or if they’re in the presence of someone they trust (to knock the victim out of the trance if the hypnotist tries anything funny). Plus, a hypnotized individual can and will break out of their trance if left to their own devices.

Just sharing that for those who don’t know any better.

I get that you want to avoid using terms like "senpai" (or, in this particular case, "paisen"), but I feel like it really doesn't work in the last page. People don't really call others "senior" like that in English, do they?

TBH, I preferred your TL style when you didn't try to replace all instances of Japanese words. Examples like the one I mentioned tend to stick out and break the flow. (Also I hope you'll never get to the stage where you just remove all honorifics and do nothing to try and adapt the translation around it.)

EDIT: Gotcha. Well to each their own style for sure, but since I generally like your choice of stuff to TL, I'm a bit biased here. :)
Also to clarify re: honorifics, I'm talking about some cases I've seen where it looks like "Hey, Haramura-sensei/sama" -> "Hey, Haramura". Like, remove honorifics if you want, but at least work the translation around that to accomodate it.

I mean that's nice in theory but I don't think most English readers know what paisen means the way they know what senpai means. I honestly considered something like senpwai to try and get the cutesiness of it across, but it didn't fit the character very well, so in the end I just went with senior to make it clear she was talking about the same person from earlier in the story.

I'm not against using honorifics (example: name of this gallery, https://e-hentai.org/g/1553268/9d13b39e07/, https://e-hentai.org/s/923b81e7e3/1639575-140, etc.), but I don't personally feel particularly beholden to them either.
