Hmm, what a weird but interesting ending. The ending is vague enough to allow people to come up with multiple interpretations. To me it doesn't seem like she reported him necessarily? It could be the guilt of what he did made him come clean thus the reduced/ridiculous sentence. I think the ending represents a metamorphosis in both characters, the girl having cleaned up her act and visually changed while the man has repented for his misdeed having "nothing" anymore. The characters are now their ideal self and can be together now. The respect and admiration for Mc that the girl shows leads me to believe she didnt report him, atleast not voluntarily.

I see people taking issue with how mc forced himself upon the female character, to me which is interesting to think about. This girl went to the mc multiple times to have consensual sex in which only after wanting to leave mc forcefully copulates. The girl despite being "raped" goes back to him, even going as far as to kissing him which she "only does with people she loves". Could someone explain if she was even raped? I dont have an opinion just curious.

I had a lot of difficulty following the story. Feels like something may be off with the translation or parsing of the dialogue. Or maybe that's just how it is in the script. The ending is pretty confusing and I seriously suspect there's something lost in the translation between English and Japanese here. Maybe specific language used doesn't transfer over correctly.

There's some serious yandere going on here under the surface. She gives off some crazy eyes with him and my suspicion in part one is she deliberately tempted/taunted him into acting. Otherwise it makes zero sense for her to continue the relationship of her own volition. She's actively forcing the relationship here in part two including getting sick waiting for him after work. She's pursuing him aggressively despite what happened and his own reluctance.

If I were to go out on a limb, after he refused to stop her from leaving (she threatened to leave before but he stopped/"raped" her) she likely reported him but fought for a reduced sentence. Then, once he's out and has nothing anymore he has to rely on her. He's no longer bound by any morality and has nothing left but her. That's why he's so confused/shocked that she's there, because if she reported him in the first place it makes no sense for her to be there. But in his situation given his real feelings for her and what's left of his life she's like a beam of light. And she gets what she wants, him completely in her grasp with no other options or possibility of rejecting her.

Then their dialog on page 31-32.

She decided to move forward with her life and find another way to "feel alive", so he also decided to move forward and take responsibility (page 45 in chapter 1) which we see with the "serving 3 years with hard labor" bit on page 33.

There's no way she would show up in front of him after his release if her complaint put him away away, nor would his reaction be that low-key. Lastly, p37-38 implies they ended up back together in the end, which wouldn't have happened if she put him away to begin with. It's possible her parents were the cause, but it seems likely his sentence would have been far higher in that case.

From these points we can pretty safely assume he turned himself in.

Ok so I think a lot of people are misunderstanding this story. He was a corporate slave and a husk of a human being until he met this girl. Through her actions he started to feel alive again because he had a human connection, as demonstrated when he was worried about her being late after hearing a story of a girl in a similar situation dying. However when she threatened to leave and never come back he snapped because she had become his anchor, his emotional support, a way to escape via their relationship and the actions that made it up. In a fit of rage, and a feeble attempt to keep her, he snapped and raped her.

This rape showed her that he was sympathetically a hopeless person like herself who appears to have possibly became a gyaru solely because it helped her to feel alive by being useful in some way to someone. As such she saw a truly kindred spirit and decided that if she was hopeless then he should be too. That is why she kept coming back and continued the relationship. However he showed her concern even after all of her manipulation and use of him and that changed her mind because she saw that having someone can be a reason to live. Which is why she tried to end it again, and they parted ways, because she didn't want to hurt him further.

He somehow ended up in jail, possibly turning himself in, or involvement from her parents (although doubtful on the latter) and served 3 years in prison to essentially pay for his crime of raping her. She herself reverted back to her pre-gyaru form and became a productive member of society and they went on to form a normal relationship as two broken people who have healed some of their emotional wounds and tried to begin life again.
