I've always wondered with the turning back and forth would it restore the youth making a 30 year old male weeb into the body of an 18 year old girl? when he turns back is he 30? or 18? does each turn back reset the age? I mean the youth restoring implications of the medicine is worth exploring.

I've heard one time that you can tell the person sex by the patterns on their skin. I forgot most of the logic behind it but i remember is this: men have these diamond/triangle patterns because the compartment walls in the hypodermis run diagonally in a crisscross pattern, women have a dimply radial pattern because their skin walls run vertically which dramatically increases the chance of cellulite.

That being said, I doubt this technique would work if in anime/manga land since it's heavily implied that the sex change works at the genetic/monocular level, where as modern medicine uses hormones and plastic surgery.

@幽冥幻雪: What you see on the page is actually the font. The font makes everything look like capital letters, though I've been told it is pleasing to the eye. My earlier translations were using Comic Sans and Arial, but I was told they didn't look good.

That tell only works if the guy started using hormones AFTER puberty. Before anyone says, isn't that what happens normally?, if a guy was groomed/brainwashed as a kid to use puberty blockers and hormone treatment the adam apple doesn't show up, same with bone structure. Skin though, you can't change that.

@幽冥幻雪 It's a good question... comics have an old tradition of using all capital letters because they are easier to align in speech bubbles and were easier to write for comic artists. People got used to it and now comic speech with mixed case looks odd.

@MedNed Its really gross to suggest that anyone who medically transitions as a kid is/was being groomed. Kids rarely (if ever) get to go on HRT before having to go through years of hoops with doctor after doctor trying to talk them out of it. Because there are millions of people on HRT, I would not be surprised if there's a few who were pressured into it wrongly. But those are the exceptions, and it's really toxic to act like those few should be treated as the norm.

99.99% of trans people on HRT as adults will tell you they'd prefer having done it much sooner.

And skin isn't really a certainty either. The thickness of the skin and body hair and natural oil are all VERY influenced the presence or lack of high testosterone. Folks drastically underestimate just how influential sex hormones are, not only for childhood development but also to how much it continues to make the body work as an adult. If someone undergoes HRT before full puberty has already hit them, odds are overwhelmingly that you won't even know they're trans unless they say something about it.

This stuff would be more common knowledge, but tranpshobic media (especially in the UK) is quite profitable these days and actual facts gets drowned out with scaremongering nonsense and lies.

@Red255 Actually, as part of the procedure of FFS (facial feminization surgery), a tracheal shave on the Adam's Apple is usually included. The operation is typically carried out alongside shaving the jawline and both are carried out laparoscopically through an incision made on the inside of the lower lips so there's no visible scarring on the skin.

ALSO pregnancy is possible through surgical means. It requires an egg donor, the transfem to have previously gone through a process to produce sperm (which is not fun), have it frozen, then find either a doctor willing to implant the embryo directly into the abdominal cavity or get in line for the uterine transplant trials. Iirc, some of them went well. And the abdominal implantation method? It was done many years ago - the fetus doesn't require a womb *specifically*, a womb is just much safer. And of course it's coming out via cesarian. Anyways, unless you're a really rich fancy pants and you have to keep the family line going because of ancient ghosts haunting your family, then just adopt.
