Amazing! This finally got translated... I know you were paid to do it, but I'm still deeply thankful for your work. This was one of the mini-novels that I really wanted to see, what with it being focused on Sayaka.

That said, It's interesting to see that her name was translated as "Kamimori" here, rather than the more commonly used "Kamori". What led to that? Was the more commonly used translation a mistake that just grew popular? Or is her name in Japanese characters open to a bit of interpretation when spelled with letters rather than kanji etc?

Either way, thanks again for this, and good luck with your work.

I will shamelessly hope that out of all those commissions, there's more Rindou stuff included.

I only know her family name as Kamimori, though I don't know much of the history behind Rindou's works aside from the few I've translated. I think this and Shin Matai Toshi (a VN) are the only exposure I've had to her. For reference, the English romanization of her name on page 18 wasn't something I added in - that was there, so we can probably take it as the official reading.

I'm not personally familiar with reading 神守 as anything but Kamimori in regards to names, though I see it's sometimes read as Kamori in the names of places.

That's interesting. I don't actually know where the "Kamori" reading started from, I remember running into it when I discovered the character and Rindou's art in general and steadily started obsessing over them.

What I DO know is that even pixiv displays "Kamori Sayaka" as the romanization for her name, for the tag that, I think, Rindou themselves created (but not translated) for her a long time ago. The oldest pic of her on pixiv is from 2009, and that's basically ages ago. Ultimately, it looks like someone took it that way, and it started spreading. This was already a "known fact" by the time Matai Toshi 4 came out. Worse yet, because Rindou rarely digitizes these books, they never became as popular as they otherwise would have, which means that if there was an early error with the translation, there would have been few odds for it to be corrected.

Hell, we can't be 100% sure if the romanization there is from Rindou or Kuroi Hiroki, the author of the novel's text. I've certainly never seen any other instance of romanization from them (that I can remember at least), and I'm not sure if they know any English at all.

As for Rindou's Fantia, hate to break people's fantasies, but the most you'll find there is higher rez versions of the stuff he posts on Twitter, and very little in the way of actually new content. I'm not sure if the total passes uh... 15 new pics? MAYBE. Most of them are black-white sketches that don't even have proper shading. So you're not missing out on much. The Fantia is more of a way to support the author than a true source of new content.

Well, that and a source of more teasing about Rindou's desire to see a Matai Toshi RPGM game one day.

I actually went and counted them, and even with the loosest definition of "new" (aka minor differences from other public pics) you end up with a grand total of 21 new images, of which 3, yes, just 3, are fully coloured, shaded and finished in every sense of the word. Let that sink in for a moment, considering that this Fantia page has been around for over a year now.

I love that character from Rindou, one of my favorite hentai characters. I'd love to see a version of her with her head enclosed in latex as well. Always wondered why Rindou didn't create a totally protected 'Sister of Thorns'.
