Ntr requires the most mental gymnastics and and suspension of disbelief when reading because sometimes I just cringe at the story and how much of a wish fulfilment it is.

@reign I don't agree with that. Sometimes it doesn't even require any ill intentions. Other times it just requires a lack of morals by 1 or 2 people. Their appearance doesn't really factor in.

This story have too much drama. The felling of angst with Baba manipulation was fun but the story have too much drama compared to erotic content.
I believe the goal of netorare is to invoke the feeling of jeaslously and anger. To achieve this i think is necessary for the story to have a feeling of injustice: protagonist does everything right but it still not able to accomplish his objectives. Baba have magic manipulation and kouta don't do anything so there no feeling of injustice.
Maybe this story would work best if the protagonist was Baba? This story is in a uncanny valley where is not netorare and not netoru.

My comment was mainly motivated by curiosity. Out of all genres, NTR seems to be the most heavily criticized in the comments. Often times these criticisms are 1. MC too pathetic, I couldn't sympathize with him. or 2. Antagonist too scummy/unrealistic, why no police etc etc.

Even straight up rape doujins get less such criticisms despite being in the same vein, and there's a lot of overlap between the two. It made me wonder why sympathizing with the view of the cucked character is largely considered the norm by many commentators. My guess is that it's just those people most upset who complain about those issues. Maybe the plight of the protagonist hits too close to home? I wouldn't know, but I think asking is a start to finding out.
