A bit more of context, Before sunrise and before sunset is a two chapter story that started with vanilla incest in the first one, and gave a sudden turn to fat bastard NTR in the second, it came as super shocking to everyone, since those two stories also came out when NTR was still rather rare and generated big rejections.
So even though we could consider it an experiment, and we know that Maruwa never tried something like this again (they sure love their vanilla works with impregnation ending), some people still expect sudden NTR in their works.

That's not the true story.
Maruwa Tarou worked for a short time for Megastore, which was an edgelord magazine (still is). That's when he made those works.
Then he moved on to Comic Purumelo and later Bavel for many many years, way more softcore, and it reflected on his works.
We've seen the reverse happen too, authors going from vanilla to edgelord moving from Hotmilk to Megastore, or from Tenma to Mujin, or Kairakuten to Shitsurakuten.
