This item is a collection of playing cards consisting with depictions of young female anime characters on one side and housed in a box with illustrations. These cards were included with Animage Vol.46 from 1982 April [アニメージュ Vol.46 1982年4月号 (昭和57年4月号)].

The box was printed on a piece of thick paper which was flattened and could be removed and folded into a box. I've set this as the cover for this item as it has no cover in the proper sense as it's not a book.

Azuma Hideo drew the illustrations on the box as well as on the back of the cards, which is the same for all cards. The Joker cards have illustrations by an an unmentioned author. The images on the remainder of the cards seem to have images taken directly from screen shots of anime from which the characters appear. As such, it is nearly impossible to know what author drew these images as they were probably made by the teams who drew the animes.

Many of these characters would not be considered as lolita characters in recent years but as bishoujo characters.

From what I understand, Clarice de Cagliostro was the most popular lolicon character during the lolicon boom of the early 80s. She would not be considered as a lolicon character today, which shows how the meaning of the word "loli" has changed in the context of Japanese comics.

I was confused about that too, because many of the characters are young women that would not be considered loli by today standards, like Maria Freed, Honey Kisaragi or Monthly.
