That's because it was a real thing. In the SpongeBob SquarePants: Sponge Out of Water movie, there's a segment where the main cast get super powers. An early draft of their super hero designs showed Sandy in a Psylocke outfit.

But it got scraped and they went in an hilariously odd direction instead.
