This is an alternate-timeline Tawna introduced in Crash 4, her own Crash (who she wasn't in a relationship with) died before the timelines crossed over and she ended up stranded in the main timeline, afterwards she hooks up with "Smathen Trake".

And no the original Tawna never shows up, and is only regarded as "having lost touch".
