@Thennos Your scans aren't leveled. Your typesetting is very good, but your unleveled scans makes the fonts and handwriting distracting. General rule of thumb when you're looking at scans is that whites are fully white, and more importantly, the blacks are fully black. If any blacks look splotchy, then you need to level your scans.

http://www.ruinevil.com/rawr/editguide/1.html#3, which will show you how to level your scans, assuming again, that your files are in greyscale.
