As an editor for the LWB scanlation group, I can clearly tell that your scans aren't leveled. Notice the greyish haze that every page has, as well as the blacks having this greyish noise and the whites not being fully white (especially the speech bubbles)? Those are all dead giveaways that your scans desperately need to be leveled. As a general rule, in black and white scans, text boxes and speech bubbles are supposed to be fully white. If they're grey, brownish, or literally any other color than 100% white, you need to level your scans.

@jim2 , @secretsuprise: No, this shouldn't be addressed on the original scan, because leveling isn't left up to the original scanner. Their job is to upload the untouched raw to preserve details. It's the scanlator's job to level their scans, not the original scanner's. It's up to the scanlator to have the knowledge and follow through to properly clean and level scans, and if they don't know how, it's on them to learn and incorporate that knowledge into their works, NOT THE ORIGINAL SCANNER. You could also find a copy of Photoshop online, should you decide to switch from GIMP.

Shouldn't be this addressed on the original scan instead of the translated ines, since it would be painstaking be difficult to do those steps you mentioned.

If possible, may you just elaborate on the entire process, especially if one uses Gimp and one uses photoshop?

Here’s something interesting. When we burn fat, most of the excess mass is breathed out as carbon dioxide. If we’re having sex, then we’re actually moaning out that excess fat!
