If public release schedules were kept to, people wouldn't be uploading it. One month delays is long enough for people to get anxious enough to rip and upload, let alone 5 months like recently. Maybe try 2 week delays?

Putting off uploading it because someone uploaded before your release just makes them do it even more and paints a new target on your back for drama mining.

people complain because the artist is kind enough to give it's work for free after a certain amount of time , and you you don't respect him at all by posting his work before he want it to be posted
you don't even promote his work by putting his patreon / website link in your comment

by principle I'm not against piracy or stealing because I think that everybody should be able to enjoy what they want even if they don't have the money for it
but there is a difference between being a thief and being a asshole

even a thief have enough respect to wait for a free release if he know that the artist is gonna do it after a little wait , and he promote what he is stealing so others with more money can be interested in supporting him
for exemple , on the piracy forum F95zone there is always link to all devs and artists pages , patreon , devient art ....
and some devs have understood that they can work with piracy to gain visibility so they post themself their work on a piracy website , sometimes immediately , sometimes after a little wait , and when they do this , people on f95 have enough respect to not post any update until the dev do it himself

and even if we put all this moral , ethic stuff aside , why the fuck posting random image from different comics , that's make no sense

I've watched this artist for a while since like what, 2013/2014 and am still supporting him via one of the avenues he has (not gonna say which one). He lost people's respect when he turned Patreon/Subscribestar into a paywall where people had to wait a month for promised releases. Initially, it was for artist support. Then it turned into a week long wait, which was fine. Then it turned into a 2 week wait. A bit long, but still fresh in people's minds and not long for people to get annoyed and rip to upload. Then it turned into a month. When it gets to that point, artists also tend to forget releasing the stuff they promised.

Sure the people supporting him through Patreon/Subscribestar aren't gonna notice. They get releases on time. The people who patiently wait for the public releases? They get shafted for their patience and get low resolution watermarked copies a month or several months apart, even though they're the largest population of supporters and potential future paying supporters. Watching it play out over the years, I can understand why people just cut loose and avoid supporting his work with some pirating it to share with those who don't have access.

The whole "elitist" mentality of most vocal supporters is also cancerous and the supporters only non-watermarked works only feed to that, which is something I'm seeing more and more of by the year. Sure, one may argue that it's "rewards" for their support, but it kinda just degrades the quality of the work when everyone else can't enjoy it too. Works of art in their natural form are meant to be enjoyed by multitudes of others, are they not? Otherwise it just turns into a simple financial transaction and nothing more.

As for me? I'm just happily archiving away until the day something happens, at which point, I'll just release it all.
