Some character summaries, for those less familiar with some of these Marvel Comics ladies... :)

1.) Thematic Consistency ~ On an interesting note of Theme, all these depicted Marvel Comics ladies are all tied to Steve Rogers (Captain America I), in one way or another; which is really not that surprising &/or difficult given how long Steve Rogers has been around (since 1941). Props to the fan-artist [ThatHornyBastard] on that thematic consistency. :)

2.) Skipping the Well-Established ~ I will assume that, thanks to the MCU, most people are (at least broadly) familiar with Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow II), Sharon Carter (Agent 13, of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch). ;)

3.) Diamondback (Rachel Leighton) ~ Debuting in 1985, and the featured character of this gallery, Diamondback's tale is one of 'Unrequited Love'... :(
- a.) Origins and First Meetings ~ As Diamondback, Leighton was one of the founding members of The Serpent Society, a group of snake-themed mercenaries; some were Metahuman, others (like Leighton) were simply skilled fighters &/or tacticians. While not specifically formed/mandated to do so, The Serpent Society would most often work for various Bad Guys groups/factions. When Diamondback first came into conflict against Captain America I (Steve Rogers), Leighton was smitten; not just by Rogers' looks and physique (Leighton is not that shallow), but also by Rogers' force of personality and unwavering moral strength. Leighton and Rogers would continue to come into conflict (via Serpent Society operations) across the comics-years; but Leighton would often secretly/indirectly aid Rogers; and Rogers in-turn, when knowing Leighton aided him, would often let Leighton "escape" while Rogers was busy beating down the non-redeemable members of The Serpent Society.

- b.) On the Road to Romance (& Heartbreak) ~ Years later, during a time when Rogers was stripped of being Captain America by the US Government, who sought to exert direct authority/control over both Captain Rogers and the persona of Captain America, Rogers wandered America as the independent vigilante, "The Captain". The position of Captain America was given over to John Walker [Super Patriot II, Captain America V, US Agent] by the same US Government commission that stripped Rogers of the position. When Leighton learned of Rogers' stripped-status (after encountering Walker as Captain America V), Leighton left The Serpent Society to accompany Rogers into his exile. During that time of wanderings, Leighton confessed her love for Rogers. Sadly, despite an earnest attempt on Rogers' part to reciprocate and feel the same for Leighton, Rogers ultimately had to be honest with both Leighton and himself, in that Rogers did not love Leighton as she did him. Despite the heartbreak, Leighton took comfort in that Rogers was earnest in his efforts to reciprocate Leighton's love, was honest with her when he could not, and that Rogers still firmly cared about Leighton (just not romantically).

- c.) Current Diamondback ~ In current times (as of 2020), Diamondback works as a freelance mercenary, both solo &/or with various mercenary groups (usually with nominally "Good"-aligned groups). Leighton also tries to avoid any Bad Guys' jobs (though not always successfully) or crossing paths/conflicts with her former comrades in The Serpent Society (also not always successfully). Likewise, Leighton and Rogers still remain very close friends.

4.) Vagabond (Priscilla Lyons) ~ First appearing in 1987, Vagabond is furthest tied to Steve Rogers. Priscilla Lyons was the girlfriend to the wandering street-level hero, Nomad II (Jack Monroe). Lyons sought out Rogers for help to rescue a captured Nomad II, who was Rogers' friend. For comics-history, Rogers was Nomad I, during a time Rogers voluntarily stepped down as Captain America to travel freely across America, with Monroe as his companion and road-guide. Rogers later passed on the Nomad-role to Monroe once Rogers resumed being Captain America. Lyons took up the hero-name "Vagabond" (in thematic symmetry to "Nomad") when donning a mask & outfit to assist Rogers in rescuing Monroe; however, Lyons also dressed in Red, White, & Blue colors since she was working with Captain America (even if briefly).

5.) Free Spirit (Cathy Webster) ~ Debuting in 1994, Cathy Webster was a close tie to Steve Rogers, but in the form of a protégé. Webster was a collegiate working towards her Psychology PhD. degree with the career goal of becoming an FBI Profiler. Webster was tricked into participating in an experiment attempting to replicate the Super-Soldier Serum, by HYDRA affiliates. The only survivor of the experimentation, Webster was rescued by Rogers before Webster could be brainwashed into HYDRA's service. As a result of the experimentation, Webster found that she had enhanced physical abilities very close to Rogers' own (with unconfirmed hints that Webster was possibly X-gene Mutant). Feeling the need for direction and purpose, Webster became Rogers' protege, taking up the hero-name "Free Spirit" in symbolic defiance of HYDRA's attempt to brainwash and enslave her. Between Webster's physical enhancement, sharp (PhD level) intellect, Rogers' training, and heroic resolve, Webster became a strong force for Good; so much so that Rogers was genuinely considering Webster as his successor to the position of Captain America. Unfortunately, by that time of character development, the next Reboot/RetCon came about, and Webster sadly faded into obscurity as Rogers was 'reset' in his role as Captain America, without Webster. :(

6.) Bucky III (Rikki Barnes) ~ Debuting in 1996 and hailing from the alternate timeline/dimension of Earth-696 (the 'Heroes Reborn' [1996] CrossOver event), Rikki Barnes was the teenage great-granddaughter of James Buchanan Barnes (Bucky I); in that alternate timeline, Bucky (I) survived World War II, married, and raised a family (where-as Rogers was still frozen in ice). When Steve Rogers(-696) re-emerged from frozen stasis into his traditional heroic-role as Captain America, Rikki felt 'The Call' and took up the role of Bucky III under Rogers' tutelage. When Earth-696 was threatened with annihilation by the titanically powerful Super-Villain Onslaught, Rikki sacrificed herself to vanquish Onslaught and save her world. However, instead of dying, Rikki found herself on stranded on Earth-616 (Marvel Earth), where Rikki continues to operate as Nomad III (as of 2020). [Side-note: Monroe (Nomad II) and Lyons (Vagabond) has long since retired from super-heroics and settled down by the time Rikki arrived on Earth-616.]

7.) Viper / Madame Hydra I (Ophelia Sarkissian) ~ First appearing in 1969, Viper is a definitive non-romance, nor a "Love-Hate" relationship, but more of a "Hate You So Much, But..." relationship. As one of the High Command(ers) of HYDRA, Viper has (un-surprisingly) clashed with Captain America multiple times across the comics-years. However, Rogers has also worked bi]WITH Viper against greater threats (such as against alien invasion &/or planetary annihilation). Rogers has even SAVED Viper's life multiple times; several times, ironically, from HYDRA betrayals &/or assassination attempts. So while Viper is forever the Unrepentant Villain, and in zero (0.0%) danger of ever becoming one of the Good Guys, Viper does have conflicting feelings towards Rogers (just nothing romantic). As a Side-Note: Viper was married Wolverine I (James Logan Howlett), as part of a political gambit in the lawless country of Madripoor, and remained legally married to Logan for years until Wolverine's (3rd?) death.
