I literally don't say "don't support the artists", I say don't support them on the Irodori/Fakku stores. AKA do not give money to the enemies, the people that are directly behind the slow death of fanlations, the people that have directly killed fanlation groups. Support the artists on fantia/fanbox/whatever, buy JP releases idgaf. Tell them about the evils of Irodori and Fakku, and If they break ties with the swine and release with other, better publishers, like the ones I also mention in the document, then by all means support their western releases, but not a penny to Irodori and Fakku.

EDIT: Actually, I'll own that I worded it a bit ambiguously. Think that the point should of got across before but could understand how it could be taken wrongly. Edited it in the document to be more precise.

The thing is, Fakku is the biggest digital store in hentai for English fans. There are only 3 publishers that has the resources aside from Fakku/Irodori. 2DMarket, Push Publication and J18/JastUSA. I only found out thanks to you about Denpasoft having a storefront. 2DMarket doesn't focus on original works and relies on Fakku for traffic, PP only has Linda Project so far and JastUSA is infrequent. Irodori release 12 doujins per month so there are hard to beat for now.

Fakku's previous competitor, Project-H Books have fallen so low that their future is dire. They had a fantastic start before fizzling out and letting Fakku/Enshodo then Irodori take over. They had the license of Mizuryu Kei at their peak then their parent company got hit because of tax evasion.

My suggestion for those who hate Fakku/Irodori, pirate and support the artist directly through Fantia and Fanbox. Skeb Commissions are good ways too but not all artist do it.

I also disagree with the number of galleries DCMA'd. My estimation was at least double that especially if you include translations and the raw scans. Irodori has been erasing entire catalogue of a circle's works and I know for a fact that most of these work will never be licensed. I would have accepted it if it is the single work that they published, not entire catalogues. How will fans especially new ones discover these artists that have had their works purged.

Besides, Fakku run this place now. I hope this site don't start banning people for badmouthing them.

I don't like the current landscape but that is what's happening at the moment. All I can think of is a fan translation group that offers fix rates of artists to have their works translated to English, aka working directly with a fan translation group with the artist either selling it directly in a store front like DLsite, Fantia or Fanbox. The only negative about this is it will not be uncensored and no upfront profit for the artist with the fan translation group making just above break even. Only EHCove can do it right now. I support you and your cause but we have to be realistic. At one hand, the relationship between artists and English fans are in its peak right now. I don't want to damage that. Compare that to a decade ago where English readers are accused of being pirates and leeches.

Also please mention PUSH! Publications (twitter.com/pushpublication). They need more people to discover their original collaborators with artists. We need to support independent publishers like them that are not backed by a tax evading company (looking at you Project H) or major companies.

So because the current landscape is shit we should just "lie back and think of England" as it were? I refuse to accept that. I'll continue to do my small part in pushing against Fakku/Irodori, while doing my small part to encourage people to support alternatives and inform others to do the same.
