Sterile? Zdemian might not do everything I like, but the sheer variety of things they do portray is hardly sterile. Breast expansion, pregnancy, futa, animal girl, udders, blueberry, detachable parts, some giantess, muscle, lip expansion, busty boys...
Yeah, I wouldn't mind some weight gain art from them, or some of the rarer types of expansion, but Zdemian still does a huge variety of art, and they do it well.

By sterile they mean the artwork, not the subject matter.

And I see what they mean. It has a plastic quality to it, like Zdemian is just doing a job rather than actually making something they like. If Fred Perry had made this, it'd be oozing style and energy.

Yeah but if Fred Perry made it it'd also be vanilla as hell, all the names would be goofy-ass generic'd versions, the facial expressions would be completely ridiculous, the swearing would be censored in a porn comic for some weird fucking reason, there would be some forced reference to his latest hyperfixation (remember that period where he was obsessed with the muscle beneath the balls that supposedly governed ejaculation?), the dialog would sound like a combination between a tabletop quotefest by 80's nerds and a bad purple prose sexfic from the nineties, and it would for some reason turn into a twenty comic epic storyline where there's still somehow nothing but pretty much the exact same fucking in every one.

So I mean, y'know, tradeoffs.
