Seems fair to me. Dude was working his ass off just so she can stay home all day and cheat on him. Not even taking care of any children. She could have left at any time if she was unfulfilled(no children). It wasn't love that made her stay it was the benefit of being taken care of financially. Hence all the free time she had to cheat. Let him have lost that job in those 4 years and best believe she would be out the door especially if she had to start providing income for them. If she truly loved him she would have sought out employment so he wouldn't have to work so much, maybe even demanding he finds lower earning employment with less hours while she works as well for the sake of their marriage, so they can spend more time together. Makes too much sense right? Why should she get half of their assets or even alimony. At least Japanese laws seem fair about divorce. Compare that to the U.S.A especially California where I live.

You either end up with a situation where there are no repercussions for the cheating party, which means that the offended party may never get rid of the feeling of injustice, or you end up with a situation where the offended party gets a free pass to do stupid stuff themselves, which basically means the relationship has become about hurting each other instead of loving each other.

She wants to continue the financial support her husband provides which seems to have given him chronic work stress and changed him while getting intimacy from other men. Cheaters want it all. Just stating that Naoki's level of indifference and neglect toward Akiko would probably make him dismiss her even if she did try to put her foot down. It was gonna take something tangible to make him actually listen(which walking out/away definitely is), but as we can see, she chose wrongly even though she does finally have his attention.

I mean you're not wrong, but if you suspect your wife had an affair after spending 4 years without touching her (which is kinda forced even for a doujin, especially for a couple with no kids) then it's already far too late for a vacation. Honestly the case in this story is hopeless, rather than listen to her, the moment she said "it's true I had an affair" he should have just stood up and left then come back the next day with the divorce papers.
