Proofreading is easier said than done; (Though I do think that this is an issue that should have been prevented by one.) In my experience, the majority of people you'll ask to proofread will just go "looks like English to me, I barely even noticed any typos so it gets my stamp of approval for being close enough". For good proofreading you actually need to search far and wide for grammar nazis that actually have time to read a script properly and even then they have a risk of getting so obsessed with trying to "correct" something that is merely a matter of preference that they might overlook more important issues. This difficulty finding proofreaders increases exponentially when you involve more controversial tastes like guro, NTR, furry, scat, vore, etc. because on top of most potential proofreaders blacklisting it, the people who have more niche tastes tend to develop an "I'll take what I can get" attitude where they're more likely to just gloss over imperfections without bringing them up.

And knowing where to look for proofreaders is another issue, it would be neat if we had something like a site where you could upload something good enough for general consumption, get some feedback in the comments and upload an updated version after adding in those fixes. We don't really have that though as far as I know...
-EH Seems to be designed for this but in reality, most of the feedback is as toxic as it can get and constructive criticism or advice is rarely posted and sometimes even downvoted into censorship by more toxic users disagreeing with the notion that scanlators deserve anything more than abuse for their mistakes
-Discord you can get decent feedback if you get the right community, but the line between "good community" and "echo chamber" is very thin, feedback easily gets buried and discord wasn't exactly designed to be a comfortable platform for sharing/reading manga.
-Pururin welcomes scanlators though they'll have to be a bit more self-sufficient on tagging than the general "just upload it and community tagging will take it from there" attitude we can get away with here, but they lack systems for easily updating/replacing existing galleries so they prefer if you just get it right on the first upload.
-Then there are the botrip derative sites like NH where the community might be friendly (at least I'd assume; If they were hard to please they wouldn't be content reading resizes), but the only way to get your content on those sites is to upload it to EH anyway........

Personally, I do a bit of all. For proofreaders I'll share the "rough draft" (a google doc with the raw pages and translated script) with the official Pururin discord and probably some specific friends or servers on the side, (especially if there's a parody tag involved, I think it's important to get proofreaders that know how a character would normally speak and understand the inside jokes otherwise you'll risk loosing those in translation. I consider required if achievable when approaching a parody tag you're not personally familiar with). Most of the corrections will come from being a nitpick myself but proofreaders do point issues I sometimes overlook like typos or sentences that run on too long. I'll only upload when I run out of things to polish/improve, not saying every issue will be resolved but "Close enough and mulling it over for a week hasn't gotten me any closer to improving it" is the least I'll settle for. When it comes to feedback I've had 80% of my community interaction by the time I actually upload the finished translation. When commenters give constructive criticism I'll be frustrated because it'll feel a lot of time polishing it up together with proofreaders has been wasted if it takes an outsider only a fraction of that time to point out a new improvement, but I'll thank them and get it fixed if it's worth the inconvenience of bothering my typesetter/editor about it, reuploading it, and bumping it for everyone in the process. The toxic responses I'll just try to ignore, they seem to multiply as soon as you give them any attention.

Don't have much experience to go on though, only two small projects ever made it far enough to be uploaded and one of them turned out to be incomplete, was in the process of fixing that when I got sidetracked by other things.

Overall, the standard of grammar isn't bad - it's perfectly understandable, to be sure, but I have noticed one or two consistent... well, 'mistakes'? I'm not sure if it's right to call them that, but I do feel it's worth pointing them out for future reference. They're very easily fixed, so it's just a matter of being aware of them and turning bad habits into good ones.

1. I've noticed you tend to leave the full stop off the end of most normal sentences (i.e. if they don't have special punctuation at the end). I know it's tempting to think of each bubble as its own full stop, as it were, but it can be important under certain circumstances to show clearly where a sentence begins and ends, most importantly when one sentence runs over several bubbles or a single bubble contains several sentences. Just makes the text easier to read, you know?

2. Kind of as a follow-on from the previous point, your capitalisation is a little inconsistent: sometimes you capitalise words in the middle of a sentence (which can be confusing when combined with unclear sentence boundaries, as it might make one think a new sentence is starting when it isn't) or don't capitalise words that *should* be capitalised (like 'America', which is a proper noun). I'm not sure if you do this to emphasise certain words, which is fine, especially if they're emphasised in the raw, but there are better, less grammatically confusing ways of doing it, like using italics for example. If you REALLY want to emphasise a word then you can put it in all caps, but that is generally best used sparingly.

3. Your use of ellipsis is confusing at times: you seem to go for the double dot most of the time, but I've noticed you using the triple dot just a few times. I hate to sound like a prescriptive grammarian (which I am, sadly), but three dots is generally considered correct. I haven't read the raw so I don't know how often ellipsis is used in it, but it seemed to me like you were using it quite a bit? Again, this is one of those 'less is more' scenarios (unless it's like that in the raw, in which case, I guess more is more...?).

Those were the main three things I'd point out. I hope those points prove helpful to you.

You can get a proofreader if you wish, but if that isn't an option you can honestly just use any programme with a spellchecker - and yes, you shouldn't rely on automatic checking too much, but just for a once-over of any really obvious mistakes it can be quite useful. Of course, the aim is eventually to get to a point where you no longer need the crutch and can proofread for yourself, but even the best of us make mistakes from time to time.

I hope you won't let this bit of negativity get to you too much. If you enjoy doing what you do, then do it regardless of what others say; the doing in itself should be fun. Take it from me, doing things solely to get praise or validation from other people is a very effective method of becoming extremely depressed. If that's the only reason why you do this, then perhaps it might be time to look for another hobby? Up to you, of course. Either way, good luck.

I usually don't like mind control, I find it very boring, but this is great. Emoro Uki makes some great incest manga, though I'm surprised that this one isn't in color like normally. The bit at the end solidifies this one as one of my favorites.
@mattijo, So in the story the son hypnotizes the mom at the mom's request because she wants to spend time with her husband, sex ensues. During the first half of the sex she think she's fucking her husband. In the second half the son turns off the hypnosis and she realizes she's fucking her son instead of her husband. She finds out that she likes her son's cock better than her husband and even though they say they were going to wipe their memories after the sex, they didn't do it. The ending is a little hard to follow but I don't know if that's the translation or the writing, but I'm pretty sure it's implied that she either hypnotized or is going to hypnotize her son into thinking that she's the most beautiful woman in the world so he will never leave her.

The assumption that you're doing it just for the money is also quite easily made when everything that doesn't come from you or your own enablers is automatically a scam. a) You can make typos and still MTL. I see it all the fucking time. It usually comes from god-awful editing to the MTL itself. Also, it's funny that here you admit your shit being full of typos and bad grammar, yet you were blowing a gasket a few posts up about people pointing that out.

b) You're a Japanese learner. That's great - you've raised in my esteem. I encourage you to stay on this path. However, translation isn't fucking meant for learners. If it does help you, then keep it to yourself until you've substantially improved. As for me personally, feel free to browse around the comments I've left on other galleries as well. The pattern you'll see is that I, like cutegyaru and others, do not appreciate people who don't have the skill to translate passing off their "translations" as genuine. You then get casuals who comment without realizing how bad it is praising you (probably because they have as much of a grasp on English and Japanese as you do), as well as white knights like kidousenshi making fools of themselves trying to somehow justify poor quality as good.

If you want to learn Japanese, that's excellent. E-H needs more translators who understand the translation process. Who understand Japanese, and who have a firm grasp of English. But right now, that's not you, and yet here we are with you getting mad because people who -do- understand Japanese and who -do- have a firm grasp of English are pointing out your mistakes. And instead of just realizing that this abundance of criticism means you should probably take a step back and re-assess your situation, instead you choose to come back here and sperg out and get mad.

Getting good ratings doesn't mean jack when most users here who understand English don't understand Japanese. And a lot of them don't have a firm grasp on English either, so of course they're content with content like this. They literally do not know any better. I've seen galleries that were rewrites getting 4.5 stars right up until someone like me came in and pointed out that it was completely wrong in every way (at which point it usually hovers in the 3~4 star range).

Grow thicker skin, and put the effort you're putting into these sub-par translations into your Japanese education instead. Maybe find yourself a proofreader and an editor as well, if you can. There are plenty of Discord communities for scanlators you can join if you want help with any of the above. And if you're looking for Japanese resources, I have several recommendations for books that can help you out should you want them. Though the best way is still formal education from native speakers.

Anyway, hope that addresses your concerns.

I'm being realistic. Most of the readers on E-H who understand English do not understand Japanese, and thus are literally incapable of telling if a translation is actually accurate or not. That's a statement of fact. And a pretty decent chunk of readers who understand English either don't have a firm grasp over the language (and are checking out English galleries because galleries in their native language are harder to come by), or simply don't seem to care about poor English in their porn. Again, that's just being realistic. It's what happens when you're on a massive site that covers the world. Statistics, baby!

Anyway, again, I do hope you get better, for the sake of readers who want to consume this content. They deserve better, and should be demanding better. That they aren't reflects poorly on them, not on those who are pointing out the problems.

And by the by, you mention that you have improved, and yet this is the comments section for your latest and greatest work. That also does not reflect particularly well.

So yeah. Take a step back, take a breath, refocus your efforts on learning Japanese, and see if you can't find a proofreader and/or editor to help you out where your weaknesses clearly are. Peace.

OCR is a valid tool but not one to be relied on 100% thanks to false positives. I'm still not convinced you're not an MTL user thanks to all the clunky translations present in all of the things you've uploaded that I've bothered looking at. At the very least you're an ESL though, as I pointed out in my initial comment (e-h forums shows your local timezone. That, combined with your consistent grammar fuckups and your inability to recognize basic English grammatical concepts leads me to doubt that you're British) which is yet another mark against you; even if you were completely competent with Japanese, why are you translating into something that isn't your native tongue?

Yes, I do believe that incompetents should not work on galleries on this website. If that makes me elitist, so be it. I won't shy away from the label. Scanlation deserves better than what you and people like you are capable of providing.

You improve only when your teeth are pulled out, and you grumble when things are pointed out to you. You go out of your way to deflect criticism; I spent a few minutes going through your older uploads, and the amount of times people pointed out that you were using resized images instead of the source images was only matched by the number of times you had a retort that said resizes were better than source images. Let's just say that the editors I shared those comments with vehemently disagree.

You complain about criticism being malicious misrepresentation, yet the criticism is valid. In this specific instance, the thing that set you off on this meltdown was being told (CORRECTLY, as Nomake has clearly demonstrated with his proof for the poor grammar tag) that you consistently fucked up a very basic yet key piece of grammar. And your response was to throw a huge tantrum and threaten to quit doing... whatever it is you do. That's absolutely hilarious to me.
