The author most likely decided only now to make the "let it slide" become its own thing.
It could be because JDH doesn't have long stories, only a couple of his works go for more than 2 chapters, they are just so rare.
So he decided to make his special hypnosis one shots something bigger.
The explanation from the wizard/MC maybe wasn't translated fully or is a bad retcon of past events, as I think most LIS users killed themselves after saying something stupid, he wasn't possessing them.
The explanation made it look like the book will absrob every new user soul after it died so that they can restart later.
Maybe it really meant that after a user dies the soul get absorbed so that the creator can use the power to one possess someone?
Anyway he have a excuse to make a full volume with every LIS story now, and then work on a new one.

I would like his isekaied into games stories to get more sequels too, not many athors venture there, pity that he kills the players in every one of them.

-say something stupid is a one way ticket to death
-be patient (sometimes the spellcaster survives, but others not)

Not a super big fan of the artstyle, but this story is so legendary at this point, I just have to read it whenever I see a new part get translated.

Way I understood it is, the book is infused with magic. When somebody reads the book, the magic leaves the book and enters the reader's body, allowing them to use "Let It Slide". When they die, the magic leaves their body and returns to the book, allowing the next person who reads it to gain the magic and use "Let It Slide" (this also may prevent more than one person from being able to use LIS at a time). Additionally, if a reincarnation of LIS's creator ever reads the book, then he'll gain a full memory of his past life (possibly overriding his personality with that of his past life?). I don't think posession is involved, because how could he reincarnate if his soul was bound to the book? As for why he made the book and made it work like that, I think he wanted a backup plan incase the other users of LIS (his pupils, I'm assuming?) kicked the bucket before passing down LIS to someone else (which is what happened), to ensure that LIS wouldn't be lost forever. I think.

EDIT: Rereading the beginning of this and the end of part 9, I think how it works is that the user can "touch" somebody to pass on LIS. What precisely "touch" means is unclear since none of the women the users banged gained LIS. But it seems LIS can be passed on if the user dies and someone touches their body. That seems to have been what was happening, which is why the end of part 9 had the investigators go into in such a frenzy about finding the body when it turned out that the current user of LIS had died, so that they could dispose of the body before LIS could be passed on. I think. As for the book, I think the creator of LIS may have imbued at least part of his soul into the book, so that anybody who touches the book can gain LIS, and so that he can cheat death by being able to imbue his memories and personality onto his own reincarnation. I think.
