You can't tell them apart really because they are both just women who have a penis.
If a futa came out of a hentai into real life, she would just be treated as a trans or intersex woman (if she also has a pussy).
The distinction is just an excuse, a "no homo" but for masturbating to what basically is a trans or intersex women without accepting real women with those bodies as women.
So most of the time people will use futa with characters who have some contrived explanation as why they are "totally not trans" and shemale for those who are obviously trans.
Since Fanny is shown transitioning in previous comics, she is not futa.

In the meantime, you're spreading misinformation. Please stop. The "shemale" and "futanari" tags say nothing about *how* a character came to be like that. Naturally born, realistically transitioned, magically transformed… it's irrelevant. The only thing we're looking at is whether the character has one set of genitals or two.

I get it, you have certain beliefs about how things should be, but you need to learn to deal with how things *are*. And for you to cry "tRaNsPhObIa!" about something like this, or to warn us about how aaangry (grr!) you'll get if someone questions you… believe me, you're not helping your cause.
