I was trying to figure out why the hell the size is 700MB+, and it seems like the RAWs has 2 diff resolutions. Some pages are at 2400x3389 and others at 4299x6071, easily quadrupling their size lol. Weird.

Anyway, just one small comment:

1. Please punctuate (consistently). Punctuation is not optional in English, even if JP versions rarely do. This is mostly aimed at periods (that you often omit).

I was horrified by the massive file sizes too when I was working lmao. Though, the RAW I have has 4299x6071 for every file, and none at 2400x3389.

Regarding punctuation, I'll definitely start using it for future TLs. I did think about using it this time after seeing you comment on some other doujins about punctuation but, being entirely honest, the reason I didn't do so this time is (and it's understandable if y'all get mad at me for this) cuz I was too lazy. Namely, I thought about it after I had already typesetted and exported pretty much every page, and I really didn't have the motivation to go back, fix every page, and re-export. In retrospect, considering I did spend over a month working on this, it probably wouldn't have killed me to spend a tiiiiny bit more time fixing that.

So, he thinks he's a scumbag for playing around but when she encountered him he dissuaded her from prostituting herself after being pressured by her "friends". That's why she knows he's actually a good person at heart who has serious self esteem issues and kills himself under the burden of trying to be the best he can be. And then at the end he tries to end things still believing that he's forcing her to, again showing that he's actually a good person but because she does want their relationship she refuses, All along he was kind of playing into her hands since that's what she wanted all along, not a brother but a lover.

You could have reduced the size of this gallery massively by saving your black and white images as grayscale PNGs instead of 24bit colordepth JPGs. Example gallary image 4 (filename 003):
In the RAW the size is 7.53 MB saved as grayscale jpg. Saving it as grayscale png reduces the size to 953 KB
Yours saved as 24bit jpg is 7.77 MB. I converted it to grayscale png and its size came down to just 1.03 MB.

Edit:
After downloading this gallery and converting gallery images 2-57 (filenames 001-056.jpg) to grayscale pngs with XnViewMP (compression level 9) this doujin shrank from 727.5 MB to 96,9 MB!!!

I did notice the massive file size reduction when I exported the colored versions as pngs (cuz it was too big to be uploaded as a jpg lmao), but I wasn’t sure if it was fine to change everything else from a jpg to a png, since the raws had them as jpgs and I’m not familiar with whether there should be file consistency between raws and TLs. If it’s really fine to do this, then I’ll keep it in mind for when I get the opportunity to work with something like this again.

Ancient-Alien's right. You always want to convert black and white pages into grayscale PNGs. It's not just about de-bloating, it's also about maintain quality and avoiding (extra) artifacting.

It's a different story for colored pages, which should be saved as RGB jpgs, but usually with tweaked quality settings to reduce file size while also keeping artifacting to a minimum.

Common mistake - happens to everyone.

So if I'm understanding correctly, if it's completely black and white, then I should convert it to grayscale png, regardless of whether the RAWS had them also as grayscale pngs or not?
Also, regarding jpgs, is it fine to not set quality to 100? Or is 100 too high in general?

Sorry for asking so many questions; I've always been curious about stuff regarding type consistency, but my previous searching didn't yield much in regards to what's normally acceptable on this site.

Yup, you're correct.

For JPGs, quality settings are usually anywhere 80-100, but can sometimes even be lower. Just gotta find a good enough trade-off between artifacting and file size.
