They're all speculation, I'm afraid. Rumors of covid, rumors that he died in an earthquake (his last post on twitter), there was even a rumor that he got decapitated (who the hell came up with this and where was the evidence?!); either way, he might have threw in the towel if he didn't pass away at this point. You also can't use his twitter history because he is also fairly sporadic with how often he tweets before he went AWOL.

Things to consider:

1. He was born on 1984. Can he have succumb to COVID? Sure, but very unlikely.
2. His blog is still up (no posts since March 2020). Not so sure but about Japanese blog hosting services but I'm assuming they need to be paid to be kept up???
3. He has a light novel of the Tachibana series is also still up on Dlsite. He also has a another co-author and publisher on that work but that at least means that it might be a possible source of income for him.
