You can not delete a posted gallery by yourself.
You can only disown it.
To "delete" a gallery you need to fill in the expunge petition.
Be aware, that reason stated for expungment must be valid. Otherwise, petition will be rejected, and initiator may be expunged instead.

Your previous gallery will remain on the site, now in disowned form, until such a moment when either official action on the part of copyright holder would be executed, or another better/more complete gallery would be uploaded.
