Well, that's because (and this is rather obvious) the first seven pages were done by one artist, and then someone else did the next five, badly, without keeping to the same art style or premise.

I could be wrong, but if I recall, Zarx, the original artist, threw a 'tism tantrum because people were modifying his work (I think there was an even worse version of this continuation out there) and giving him a bad name, so he just disappeared off the face of the planet.
