This chapter is a really slow burn compared to the last one... not that I'm complaining since it's an engaging mystery soaked in atmosphere. Hoping for more fucking as well of course, maybe with a guy who isn't so polite. Mystery + atmosphere + sex = holy grail of modern erotic storytelling. The updates aren't the fastest but if we get a really memorable story out of it, well... sometimes genius takes time.

Yeah, this lad is right, the abbreviation is SxE, so it's intentional.

Pay attention to the MIB's cufflinks.
They either have the "Crown of thorns" symbol from the first chapter, or the "horseshoe" halo symbol.
The first one is worn by creatures at pages 55 and 102 ch.1 as a literal crown-of-thorns halo, the second one is the halo of the... goddess?!?!? creature from the very end of the chapter one.
It can also be seen around Mai's head at page 155, Chapter 1.
The only charactes that have neither of these symbols are the newborn creature from page 65 ch. 1 (it probably is just not mature enough to have the halo yet), and the Guardian Lady.
It's not like I'm giving a clue or something...~

There are different factions in play. The white monster is a demon. The things in suits seems like grunts under the order of the big demon-god we've seen before. Mai was harvested by that big demon-god thing and the grunts of her faction are trying to protect her. The white demon doesn't see her as worthy because, well, Mai's the new blood and didn't prove herself or some shit - kind of jealous that mama give all the attention to the new kid.
