On the first six pages I was reminded of an old American horror movie from about 70-80 years.

Only there, in the toilet, some muck (something long) did penetrate into the anus into the intestine. And then it controlled people.
The film took place in a high-rise apartment building. In the end, all the people were by control (supposedly). Final scene (frames): all people (in which the parasite) in pairs get into cars and leave the house.
